  1. The FOS determined that Lloyds TSB should remove a default from my credit file and remove all negative markers. The default was for £3500 and was related to an overdraft. 15 months after the FOS decision the bank has failed to remove the default. I have been in regularly contact during this time with the FOS and the bank but so far they have failed to do this simple task. They have talked about resolving the matter once and for all and paying substantial compensation for distress and inconvenience. I would like to know whether anyone has had similar experience and what payment would be satisfactory. Regards
  2. Hi all apologies if this post in in the wrong place. I am in desperate need of some assistance. I have a loan of £520 with Mr Lender due to come out of my account tomorrow. I took some of the advise I saw on here and emailed them this morning stating that I was in financial difficulty, I offered a repayment plan of £65 a month for 8 months (which I can manage). I have heard nothing back as of yet. I then called Tsb to cancel the CPA. They put me through to disputes and point blank refused to cancel this CPA, and said there was nothing ear marked on my account to come out tomorrow. The very rude and poor english speaking man said that they would not investigate anything until the transaction has taken place. I'm so worried now and I don't know what to do. Should I call them back and ask to speak to somebody else or just wait until tomorrow to see what happens. I wanted to avoid any charges from Tsb. I hope someone can help.
  3. Can anyone advise me on how much I would get back on my claim if I am successful, details below: Loan 1: Feb 2001 Amount borrowed: £11000 PPI £1884 Monthly payment: £328.77 Interest rate: 10.32% Term: 48 months Consolidated into Loan 2 Loan 2: Sept 2002 Amount borrowed: £8387 PPI £3485 Balance transfer £8043 monthly payment £418.49 interest rate: 9.52% Term: 60 months consolidated into Loan 3 Loan 3: Nov 2003 Amount borrowed: £5,882 PPI £4547 Balance transfer £16,117.27 monthly payment £543.59 interest rate 8.41% Term: 60 months Loan settled Dec 2004 17,373.24 On the last loan looking at the statement the bank credited the £4547 back into my account in Dec 2003, would I be correct in thinking that I was still paying interest on the previous 2 PPi loan payments for the duration of the loan?
  4. Hi, I have got Lowell chasing a debt from Lloyds tsb. They have bought the debt it's around 350. This is made up of charges nothing more. The bank made a charge on my account for failed direct debit they applied the charge while there was no money in the account. They then charged me because their charge put me into an un arranged overdraft same thing happened the following month they applied their charge then charged me for the charge. I got a new account and ignored them and they kept adding their charges. Back in 2009 they got me on the phone and not knowing any better I agreed to a payment plan, which . Never paid on. Now it's in the hands of Lowell who no doubt will take it to court eventually my credit report has it defaulted in 2010 by my estimation it should have been defaulted around August 2009. But I have no paperwork to refer to so I could be wrong. I don't see why I should pay thus as its just unfair charges from the bank. What should I do
  5. Hello, Firstly thank you to those that are able and willing to advise. I sent an SAR on behalf of my Grandma just as a stab in the dark (on her request may I add ) to see if she could be entitled to any PPI on her borrowings over the years. Despite my SAR requesting copies of all Data held in relation to all dealings and accounts relating to Granny in all formats, all that they sent back were Loan Statements showing only the 'Payment Received - thank you' and 'interest charged' entries. I'm looking at these now thinking how much use these documents are without the actual agreements, which is what I expected would have been sent out, along with her current account 'ins and outs'. Interestingly, on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Loan Statements (in chronological order of the loan provide date) the final entry on these statements says "Rebate of Loan Protection Insurance - NIL" Why would this show on the Loan Statement if PPI was not added to the loan because it doesn't appear on the 1st, 5th and 6th Loan Statements? On each of the Loan Statements, there's a sentence in the small print saying "Any fees payable under your loan agreement are added to your current account". Does this mean they may have charged PPI but they will try and bury the charges in the current account and out of sight of the Loan Statements? Looking for assistance in next steps please, certainly in relation to the above but also if you could advise whether I need to go back to them with another cheque for ten pounds for them to send me the agreements? Many thanks in advance, Jamie
  6. Hello ,I would like a bit help please, i have recently lost my job and cannot afford the monthly payment of £240 for a loan i received from Lloyds tsb around one and a half years ago. I wrote a letter (from this site) to them explaining this and a budget sheet of my in goings and outgoings as soon as i found out i would be loosing my job asking them if i could pay £10 month until i am sorted with a job again. I have received two letters off them the first one saying there was no money in my account to take the agreed repayments and as a result they have issued me an overdraft which i have to pay £10 A DAY for, and the second letter saying NO they won't accept my payment and they will continue to add interest and charges. Can any one offer me some guidance on how i can/should resolve this please thank you
  7. Hi Everyone, I moved out of the UK in January 2009. I had a small loan at Lloyds TSB which was paying regularly, when leaving the UK had about 600 pounds still to be paid back. Was unemployed for some period of time and unfortunately could not pay the rest of the money back. Does it appear on criminal records check ( DBS checks)? Would appreciate your advice on this matter. Regards
  8. All creditors were written to by letter dated 21.08.06, to inform them of financial difficulties. I enclosed £1 token payment and cont’d to pay this for some months until payments increased. The original payments amounted to £500-£550 per month. I am still currently making reduced payments as below. I am unsure where I stand and what I can do, if anything, and do not want to open a can of worms as I have been off work with bereavement/stress/anxiety and as a result I am now unemployed. If you have read any of my other posts you might be getting the idea of what a pickle I've got myself in to, or got myself in to ten years ago. thanks for reading and for any advice you can offer. Lloyds TSB Goldfish Loan - now with 1st Credit Not showing on Equifax file Balance £4555.07 I pay £24.00 per month Letter from Lloyds dated 17.11.06 stating, “we cannot accept your payment proposal or suspend the charges and interest on your account” I have the original Goldfish CA from July 2004. Letter from 1st Credit dated 11.01.2008 stating, “We give you notice that Lloyds TSB Bank has assigned 1st Credit all of Lloyds TSB’s rights in to and under the above detailed account.” Always (monthly) sending discount letters, last one dated 23.12.13 offering 50% if paid in Jan, with decreasing % for payment in subsequent months. CCA requested 06.01.14. no reply r’cd to date. Should I withhold payment until I have evidence from them?
  9. Hi all, I am looking for some advice regarding two loans that my mother seems to have been paying forever. Unfortunately she does not have any paperwork regarding these loans, from the TSB. I directed her some time ago about PPI, she followed the cliaims process but was basically told that it doest apply to her. When she was discussing this on the phone with,I presume, someone at her bank they informed her that her loans were taken out in 2001 and 2004 respectively. Now, my mother only ever took a loan out for £3000, possibly £4000 MAX . She has been making monthly payments of £54 on one loan and around £80 on a second loan, or around £1500 a year. Now by my calculations, that equates to around £15k over a 14 year period, was never good at maths lol... Due to my mother having no paperwork regarding these loans, can she contact the bank and request these? This only came to my attention the other week and I feel that something doesnt add up. Maybe she didnt qualify for PPI as the loans were taken out so long ago? My mother feels that these loans shouldve been paid years ago. Being 80 years old she just kept on paying it,believing that everything was ok, appreciate any advice peeps, thnx in advance
  10. Hello All, I have been a reader in the past, possibly looking to act but never got around to it. Now I am being FORCED to as I have received court papers from Northampton County Court with Claimant being LOWELL on behalf of Lloyds TSB (EDIT: current account not credit card) and I need your help... Long story short (more details to be porivded later) - CURRENT ACCOUNT overdraft of £2000 had it for years no issue. Then over a tiny amount, less than £50 the account got messed up, I was worried with other things, they made it seem bigger than it was kept charging me late payment/non payment/over the limit charges and I ignored and ignored. Basicall what happened is they were charging me £235 a month in fees, something like 10x£20 daily rate for being overdrawn + 1x£35 for going over agreed limit. I called them to say I have £x amount, I can pay this now bring the account back into the agreed overdraft limit. But it was less than the charges for that month alone. So if I did pay it, it would be going down the drain literally as I would be charged a full £235 again. And again. And again - which is what ended up happening.. And it is there that I ignored them for years because it fed me up. I always wanted to fight, but could never find the time or the patience. Accounts gone from LLoyds to BLS to Wescot to BLS to all over the place. I moved house and they tracked me down, twice and the same story... Lowell have been chasing for a while and my jaw dropped today when I actually opened a letter to find court papers! I received a letter from Lloyds themselves recently telling me they were passing over the debt which I found strange as they did that years ago - it makes sense now as they knew they would be persuing. What do I do?? I have no idea HOW to fill in the paper work, TIMEFRAMES for dealing for this, let alone how to FIGHT this. Your help and advice are most welcome... Note: I originally got the accounts mixed up. This is regarding a current account a held with them, not the credit card. Note I held another current account with them with practically identical issue which now I'm worried they may actually chase..
  11. In 2009, I cancelled my direct debits online for my car insurance as I sold it. Lloyds/TSB sent me a letter saying I was overdrawn as the payments were " In the system " when I cancelled them, and they paid them. I have debated this until I was blue in the face in 2009 and subsequently ignored all the different companies who have bought the debt, now Lowell have bought the debt and have applied for a CCJ at Northampton on 13 Feb 2014. I work away and get my mail when I can get home. Please advise the next step.
  12. Hi all, Back on the 01/08/2009 due to financial difficulty I entered into a payment agreement with Lloyds (letter to prove this arrangement) on a loan I had. This was approximately 50% of the original monthly payment. When I look at my credit report the default wasn't applied until 15/06/2010 almost 11 months later. I want to get this removed from my file asap so could I request that the default date be changed? Could I request it be removed 6 years from 01/08/2009?
  13. Hi again everyone. I'm in a position to make offers on two outstanding debts, one of approximately £10 k to TSB which I've been paying off at £50 a month since the court case (in which I defended myself and lost (quelle surprise)) back in 2009, the other to LINK who shafted me a couple of years back adding 3k onto my debt of approx 5k making it 8k of debt and I foolishly didn't get back to the court in time to object, so I've been paying LINK £10 a month since then. Both TSB and LINK have charges on our property which is why I'm keen to get these debts repaid first in priority to others, as our mortgage is interest only and only has 10 years to run and we need to remortgage and get an endowment and start paying it off, but can't remortgage until these charges are cleared from the property. So...how much should I offer TSB for their debt of 10k? I'm thinking of offering 2k. And how much should I offer LINK for their debt of 8K? I'm thinking of offering 1k. I know that different banks and CCCs have different reputations regarding what proportion of a debt they'll accept in an offer but don't know the details which is why I'm asking for help. Is my CAG buddy andyorch still here by any chance? (waves hello if you are!)
  14. Hi Guys and Gals, Just a quick one :- Got an old Lloyds c/card debt from approx 2007/2008 , the card was initially taken out in 2002 and now the debt has been sold to Lowells, over the past couple of months had the usual assortment of letters but have just ignored them as the debt is not far off being SB. However on Friday got a new letter from them this time saying that they may now go down the route of a Statutory Demand and instructing solicitors etc. Im going to send a CCA request to Lowells and send a SAR request to Lloyds. Does anyone have an address to use for Lowells and for Lloyds TSB as the one on their letters is a PO box and i didnt think you could send recorded deliveries to PO Boxes. As usual any help, ideas or advice is greatly appreciated Gazbo
  15. Hi I had a credit card with TSB in 1983. In 2006 because of an accident I could only pay £5 per month to the outstanding balance of app £10,000. I still pay this £5 today by standing order to TSB. I received a few letters from Cabot telling me they bought the debt from TSB, but I ignored them and continued to pay my £5, that I had agreed with TSB to the TSB. Today I get a letter from FIRE saying to make them a reasonable offer. I checked noodle credit report as advised in the CAG forum and TSB are not listed on my credit file. The debt says it is cabot that own it, but I have never dealt with Cabot. I was wondering what to do next and any advice please.
  16. Hello! I have posted on here before and found it so helpful so I am hoping for more help regarding my lloyds tsb overdaft debt. I had a current account that was passed to ltsb collections about 2 years ago and I set up an arrangement plan with them, which I renewed every 6 months. However I found contacting the collections dept in India stressful and on my most recent renewal sent them a letter instead. They responded by sending me a new I+E form which is done every time I renew the plan, I completed it and sent it back but never had a reply. The account then disappeared off my internet banking and i think they may have sold it onto a DCA but I have had no letters to say this. Is there any way I can find out where this account is without having to phone collections? I have seen there appears to be numerous different DCA who collect for lloyds so i really dont know where to start but i really want to get this debt cleared as its the last one left on my report that i haven't settled. Any help for this would be HUGELY appreciated!!! Thanks !!
  17. On Monday Lloyds Tsb will apply £165.00 worth of charges to my account. I don't have the money to pay them and I am worried sick. I have just come out of hospitalafter having laser treatment to my left eye. I have been in and out of hospital for the last 8 weeks,I have only 80% vision in my left eye. Whilst worrying about hopitl and dealing with all of this I forgot to keep my account in order. Hence these charges. On Friday I thought I would ring the bank to ask them for help. I told the customer services advisor that if they take the £165 from my account on Monday then my mortgage w't be paid she said why not contact yourmortgage company and ask them to take the money on a different day. I couldn't believe that she was suggesting that I pay the mortgae late so that I could pay TSB. When I challenged her she said that if I had ensured the money was in the account then I would't have these charges. Yes true but why are hey still able to take all of the money at once. I told her I would not risk paying my mortgae late for anyone and could not believe she had suggested that. I told her I would pick up a late fe and that was something I did not want. She then told me to cancel all the direct debits which are gas lectric, council tax etc. I again told her that these were more important than TSB chargs. So on Monday I will be lft with a gaping holes of £165. If I don't pay these chagrs then I will be overdrawn - unauthrised because they won't help so I will get more charges. I don;t know what to do, where to turn next.
  18. Hi all I'm a little stuck, some advice would be much appreciated In April 2009 my Lloyds TSB bank account went over drawn due to excessive bank charges. At the time they were very unhelpful and I refused to pay which in turn they closed my account put a default on my credit report for £324. These past 2 months Lowell have started sending me letters informing me they have taken on this debt and when i checked my credit report today Lowell have now added an additional default to my credit report. I now have 2 defaults on my credit report for the same debt, and not exactly sure how to deal with this ?
  19. Hello. I am currently in an IVA (4th year now) I have recently opened a basic account with the new TSB. One of my creditors is Lloyds. My wages have not been paid in yet. I am wondering if my money will be safe there now that the bank is now a separate bank within Lloyds until next year. Their (TSBs) new terms and conditions state that the offset right will no longer apply to accounts outside TSB and vice versa. Does anyone know if this is correct and if my money will be safe. Thanks.
  20. We had a flood two weeks ago, under the floor of our kitchen and bathroom. Water was spraying from a broken stop cock for several weeks it seems. We reported this to Lloyds. They asked Polygon, a water damage expert,to survey the damage. Lloyds subsequently refused to act on their advice to place heaters under the floor boards, because presumably it meant the assessment and removal of possible asbestos tiles in the kitchen, which they considered too expensive. We are worried about dry rot setting in. Lloyds have given us their final decision which is not to act. From the start we found them miserly, brusque, terse and unwilling to part with even a penny, without a fight. Our verdict: DON’T BUY INSURANCE FROM THEM. You think when you take out insurance you are covered. With Lloyds TSB you are not!
  21. Hi can anyone shed some light - I recently received two letters from Lloyds TSB out of the blue stating that after a review of my account they can no longer run a bank account for me. I have been with them for nearly 20 years, never had any problems, always in credit etc. Cannot find anyone to speak to to find out why, on what basis they made this decision etc. Just get told the banks can do this without having to give a reason. Surely there's a criteria on which they make their decisions??
  22. Hi, I'm looking for some help and guidance on claiming back PPI payments I have made of a Lloyds TSB credit card. A little bit of background. I took the card out around 2004 on-line and never knowingly ticked a box saying I wanted PPI on the card. I have always refused to take that type of insurance on any other loan or credit card I have had. To be honest it used to wrangle me when I saw the cost each month on the statement, however I just thought maybe I had to have it to have the card. In the last few years I have got into a debt problem and now only pay an amount i can afford each month and have never missed a payment. To be honest this card is amongst a number of cards and loan debts I am managing and I'm unsure if I have a default notice on this card, If it makes a difference I will check I have looked on the site and I'm trying to find a thread or some instructions on how to start a claim and the process I should follow. I was told by a friend to try claim back myself without using one of those PPI claim back companies and I could find lots on help from this site. Thank you in advance for any help given
  23. Hello I have a debt with Lloyds TSB which has a balance of circa £23k. Believe it or not, this debt started its life as a £26k loan nearly 10yrs ago and LLoyds refused to freeze interest when I began a DMP with Payplan. Sorry, that's by the bye! I received a ketter today from Aktiv Kapital introducing themselves and with it was a copy of the "NOA" from Lloyds passing on the debt. It looksfor all the world like they've just cut and pasted text onto a rubbish photocopy of an old letterhead from Lloyds. As I haven't received any correspondence from Lloyds themselves am I being paranoid or do DCA's actually regularly try to produce dodgy NOA's? I just thought I'd see if anyone had come across this before Thankyou xxx
  24. My partner has had loans and subsequent loans with her ex , in fact several she says, with Lloyds TSB. I wrote Lloyds about just one loan four weeks and told them that I was acting on their behalf. They wrote back today and straight away got an offer of PPI repayment with 8% interest. They also add in Excess Balance and interest? Now being suspicious of anything any Bank would offer, for them to offer Payment so easily makes me think there's something being hidden here? I didnt SAR them immediately because she had little paperwork after losing her home. But little by little some has come to light and so I SAR'ed them last week. She also has Credit card with them. Is compounded interest only claimable against Credit cards & Catalogs? or loan PPI's too? Your thoughts please? fiddled
  25. Had health and debt issues in 2006 which caused me to put my head in the sand and ignore them all. Now they should all have been statute barred and gone from my credit file by now. But i have not checked yet. Still unable to work and now on ESA. I opened some of the threat letters demanding money or else. to sort them in neat piles ready for the bonfire. I opened one dated almost a year old which had my parents address on it. This was from Lloyds TSB and states they are changing my credit card agreement and that my account is currenty in default. Err i have not been with the Lloyds TSB since it was just the TSB. I left that address some 25 years+, My parents still live there though. This is the 1st i have heard of any balance owing and a default. It says i need to quote my CC account number with most of it masked out. As its so old should i just file it on the bonfire pile? Also as my current financial situation has not changed, No job no money etc. Is it worth getting my credit report and cleaning it up? Or just ignore it, I am very good at ignoring stuff. Just wondering if it could affect any future job applications? Thanks
