1. I entered in a street where the above restrictions were in force. I was not aware and I did not read the sign. However when I entered the street I saw a car parked on a yellow line on a Sunday, which made me to believe that parking may be allowed. I stopped and put my wares in the boot for safety. Before I decided to park there my wife and i discussed to check if we were really allowed to park. Then I saw a sign and read it through and decided I am not allowed to park. We got into the car and moved from there. I requested to see the Video footage. The footage starts at 59.14 minutes and stops at 1.51 minutes as soon as I got into the car. The video was cut off. It did not cover my leaving at the time possibly deliberately. I believe that the contravention did not occur as I did not load or unload anything. The video confirms I did ot move away from the car. Additionaly the whole waiting was under three minutes which I beleive is allowed on a yellow line. I did not park deliberately as I had not seen the sign. I only became aware when I came out of the car and read the sign. I wish to appeal. What are my chances. Can you please help. Incidentally the PCN does not mention contravention Code or the exact place. It mentions Station Road Ilford.
2. I defaulted on 3 debts back in 2006 due to work problems and have spent the last 6 years paying them off to various DCAs. A few months ago the defaults disappeared from my credit report and I now have a pretty good credit rating and have managed to get a credit card and start improving my rating. My question is, there is still about £4600 to be paid off on two of the debts (£3450 on one and £1150 on the other) I accept the fact I owe money and that I should continue to pay, but to pay back the whole amount seems a bit unfair as the debts were purchased for pennies in the pound by the DCAs. As the defaults have disappeared from my account and as I understand it they can never be reregistered is there any incentive for me to carry on paying back the debts at the level I currently am? Can I reduce the payment to a token amount? What could the DCAs do if I did this? In the same respect what would happen if I stopped paying? Finally if I asked for a full and final settlement does the fact they are unlikely to register a satisfied in full on the debts even matter anymore as the debts no longer show up on my account? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
3. Hello Gang I received a PCN notice for what looks like ended up to be an expensive trip to London. It seems like its a fair cop - they have a picture and silly me - i did stop in a bus lane!! However, the date of contravention was 02/02/13 and the date of notice is 21/02/13 - almost 3 weeks ago - is it still enforceable?? Its my only hope.. Thanks guys.. Regards, Jameson
4. Good morning everyone, im new so please be patient (iv never used a message board before) Me and the father of my daughter split up in August 2012, we were still living under the same roof but led totally seperate lives, anyway i started claiming single parent allowance (i had a seperate bank account etc) but the bills and mortagage were coming out of our joint account, a long story short i recieved a letter saying they suspected my Ex was living at the same address as me (he was) so i rang and explained this to them and they said it was fine as long as i could prove i was contributing towards the bills etc, anyway i sent all evidence off of us putting the house on the market, and bank statements of our joint account with me transferring money in from my seperate account to cover half the bills every month. I recieved a letter back just before new years basically saying Thankyou no further action will be taken. Since then my Ex has moved out but last Saturday we were both out with our friends and saw each other and got talking and as you can imagine after a few drinks one thing led to another. He is still at a different address now but we are meeting up and contacting each other alot. How would i go about stopping my claim without it looking suspicious If we decide to give things another go? I dont want to lie in any way and recieve money that shouldnt be given to me but at the same time i dont want to call and say "i was investigated a few months ago, sent evidence but now i want to stop my claim as im back with the guy i was investigated for being in a relationship with" as it sounds very fishy. Thankyou for reading and your help. Emma x
5. Hi I wonder if anyone can offer any advice? Bought a house in 2008 with my girlfriend. She put in £85k (40%) from the sale of her previous house. We had a Declaration of Trust set up to ringfence that contribution. The DoT said that I would meet the mortgage payments in full (neither of us realised this until a couple of weeks ago) and that when the house is sold the mortgage company would get their share currently £110k, She would getback her 40% and next I would get what I had contributed and then whatevers left would be split between us. I moved out in 2010 to give her more 'quality time' with her kids who also lived with us. The relationship continued and I contributed half the payments (£320.00) from then and also my rent on a flat (£600). She dumped me 3 weeks ago and literally next day has a new boyfriend who is staying there every few days. We have put the house on the market for £210k but we oringinally said we would accept 200k. She has since said that she is in no hurry at all to move and if it takes a year or two that she will move when she is good and ready! Thats obviously no good to me as for one I feel I helped keep a roof over her and her kids heads since I moved out in 2010 and I clearly do not want to help pay for her new love nest! What are my options? Although neither of us noticed the DoT thing about me paying the mortgage in full, I did pay the lions' share for most of that time although it might be tricky to establish as she paid into the current account also, which then paid her credit card bill etc. Is there anyway I can stop paying? Her salary isnt enough for her to qualify for the mortgage criteria on her own. I feel like I've been completely taken for a ride!! R
6. Hello all, I am getting closer, I think, to being in a position to get control of my finances. I have set up a parachute account for my wages, cancelled my card (lost/fraud) sent letters to all of the lenders asking for a repayment schedule and withdrawing the authority for the CPA. I walked a letter into my local Santander to try and get them to stop the CPA their side and it's taken them three days to get back to me, but they have managed to register a dispute against each of the lenders. They have just said to me that regardless of this is the PDL go to VISA they can still get the transactions authorised!! How is that possible?? Santander appear to be supportive and would like me to provide them with all of the evidence of communication between the PDL and myselves. The current situation is that I have not deafualted on any of my PDL yet, I have written to them explaining I will not be able to make payment and requested that they put me into a repayment plan. Should I also be doing this via e-mail or just leaving it to recorded delivery letters. I cannot enter a DMP with StepCHange as my I&E puts me at a negative due to me being paid commission every month. I just want to get on a repayment plan as quickly as possible so that I can get out the other side of this horrible mess. The stress is really starting to hit home as I have bills coming up that I just won't be able to pay.
7. hi everyone I need some advice over a parking charge notice i received in the post, its from a company called parkdirectuk asking for £100 to be paid because apparently we were stopping or waiting on private land where stopping or waiting restrictions are in force, now from the pictures they sent the car is parked on double yellow lines not in a bay or anything like that even though i think it was still in the car park, if the car was parked on the yellow lines surely the company has no right to issue me with a "fine" ? i dont really know how to deal with this, any advice would be much appreciated thanks
8. I have worked for the Northern Ireland Civil Service for 26 years, all my working life. In June this year I was in a bad motorcycle smash (rear-ended on my way to work) and fractured my spine. I have been off sick since. I am attending Physio and Hydrotherapy every week. I am on strong painkillers as well as sedatives to help me sleep. I cannot walk any further than about 200 yards and that is at a snail's pace. I was referred to Occupational Health Service (our version of ATOS) and was passed as unfit and unlikely to be fit for a minimum of 6-9 months. Yesterday I got a letter from our (privatised) HR company to say that my sick pay will exhaust on November 5th and from November 6th I will not receive any pay. I cannot return to work just because of this and I have no idea what avenues I can go down. I have 2 dependant kids, both at Grammar School, a mortgage and everything that goes along with it. My wife works 29 hours a week. There is no way we will be able to keep our heads above water. I do not know how to "work the system". What can I do?
9. Hi all once again, have a small problem with an eviction. I am with Amber home loans, have a self build mortgage on another property. Keeping it short I had an accident a few years ago that left me unable to work. In January run out of money and could not pay the mortgage. Struggled to find work again etc as injuries restricted me. Anyway bury head, get repossessed then ring Amber. Told eviction date of July 30th. I owe about 3800, paid them a 1000 up front, told them an interim from my accident was due in a couple of weeks which would clear arrears, they asked for bank statements, proof of work ( I am self employed) proof that the 100 pounds had been paid out of my account (just paid them on my debit card ? ) and then they might be able to do something to stop the eviction. The best bit was that they wanted all this the next day !!!!! What are my options now ? Thank you all

11. Hi, I need an advice, I am considering stopping taking care of my disabled sister and currently on income support and carer allowance as she rather have no carer and to be able to claim severe disability premium for her ESA. If I do decide to cancel it how do I do it and how long before I will have to go back onto job seeker. Just want to make sure everything goes smoothly as possible without gaps payment. Many Thanks Bob.
12. :???:hi i am new here and found this site via yahoo my problem is this i have accumulated debits over the past few years which now total in the region of £32k stupid i know but i thought that i could clear them by keeping up with payments an act which i now know was futile things came to a head last week when our mobile phones were switched off and i started to receive calls from the various card companies that i owe money to my debit is roughly made up of the following £ 8,000 credit card, £5,500 personal loan, £1,900 overdraft all with lloyds £4,800 mbna £3,500 tesco £4,000 egg £2,000 virgin £3,00 halifax up until this month i have not missed a payment on the personal loan (been running for 3 years with 2 left) and have made more than the minimum payements on the cards. but i now reliase my outgoings far outway my income and i am at my wits end whilst speaking to a call centre from lloyds last week they mentioned the credit consumer council and payplan and suggested i contacted them for assistance i tried both on line and they both appear to have advise a reduced payment plan and that i should open a new bank account and have my wages paid in i am in the process of doing this but have found it hard to find a bank not linked i applied to natwest and then found out they are linked to rbs i have now been accepted by the co op who appear to be linked to no one i have stopped my wages going in for next thurs but i am really scared about the backlash from lloyds i still have a mortage with them and intend on trying to pay it over the counter until my new account is up and runnning im i doing the right thing part of me feels it is dishonest and then the other part feels angry that they(lloyds) have allowed me to continue building up debit with them i have been a customer for over 20 years any advice would be most welcome and helpful Thanks Mark:???:
13. I finally faced up to my huge debt problem and went through the CCCS to try and get life back on track. A repayment plan was made Everything's been great so far, apart from the Halifax who only let you have 6 months before they default you and send to DCA. So, I have now have defaults (through the Halifax) which I would love to get removed from my credit file. Having sent signed CCA requests to each of the credit card companies, so far, they've sent agreements just printed out (no signature) or application forms. They say that they don't have to send true copies with signatures on at all as per the act. My question is, as they don't seem to be able to provide signed ccas, how do I get rid of them? Did i just stop paying them? I don't want to take the easy way out, but life (as I'm sure you all know!) has been so stressful with these people and if something's been done wrong, it should be put right! Any help would be much appreciated and sorry if this has been done incorrectly but I can't start a new thread
