  1. I have got home to a card from Resolvecall saying that they had visited and giving a reference number, I have no idea what it's about. Presumably they think it's a debt. Please can anyone tell me where I can get a template letter to stop them visiting my house? I'm worried that my son could be in and he sufferers from anxiety, also if possible, a letter asking why they are contacting me? Many thanks
  2. Good afternoon, I'm helping my mum with a debt I thought she'd sorted out - I'll give a bit of background first - a loan balance of around £4,500 which when payments became unaffordable due to ill health and loss of job, she offered £100 a month. They accepted this but said it wouldn't reduce the balance, just keep the loan from defaulting. She told them she couldn't afford to pay this indefinitely if the loan would never reduce, said she would rather stop paying and invited them to take her to court. They didn't, they just added interest etc and when the debt reached £8,500 odd they sold it on. Now two years later, I'm finding out that ACI debt collectors has been sending her texts and emails which she hasn't replied to, mainly because she's too ill most of the time, but I suppose also because she's waiting for court so she can set up a real payment plan where payments will go toward the actual debt, but she's told me today that they've sent an email saying that if she doesn't call them within 21 days then "Resolvecall will be instructed to attend your home address to assist you with contacting us to discuss your account" What the hell does "assist you with contacting us" mean? they gonna hold her down and hold the phone to her ear? I'm about to get involved with it now, but I'm hoping I can get some advice on how best to approach this. Its still a year and a half away from being statue barred because she made these reduced payments. I can't be with my mum, but she's vulnerable and I'm worried about her being home alone if they are going to try and intimidate her. I've told her not to answer the door if she's unsure, or not to let anyone in, even if they demand it but I'm worried. Any advice on how best to approach this will be greatly appreciated Thanks. KB
  3. Hello I hope somebody can help a company callled resolve call have been sending me threatening letters for a debt I don't even recall for 254.95 from arrow global they are saying they are going to come to my house. Is there a letter I can send them via email or post to query this debt? I don't know anything about it but in another letter they said it was related to a shop direct account which I believe is more than 6 years old so would this be statue barred? any help would be appreciated as I am recovering from COVID and could do with out this added stress thanks you
  4. This is going to get complicated so trying to keep it simple. I had an old credit card debt I couldnt pay due to loss of income, the last payment would have been around 2012. MNBA took me to court in 2015 or maybe 2017 and the court said the debt was owing BUT couldnt order any repayments due to legal issues I had at the time that prevented it. Basically MBNA got the court order but it couldnt be enforced. Today I received a letter from Resolva demanding payment of the debt which is just under £5,000. I never heard anything from anyone till today. Can this debt still be enforced due to the time limit - is it statue barred or does having an unenforceable court order make any difference to the time for statue barring (6 years)? I have just written back to them and asked for proof of the debt to see what they say.
  5. I think I’ve rattled arrows cage cos today I got a letter about a Sainsbury’s Bank account from them, saying they’ve passed the account on to Resolvecall for them to visit me. I’ll send arrow a cca request this afternoon. H
  6. Hello there, I am just after a little bit of advice please. In February out of the blue I received a letter from Capquest informing me they were now managing my Student Loans Company account on behalf of Erudio Student Loans Limited, they also included a letter from/on behalf of Erudio notifying me of a 'Change of Agency Notification'. They sent a follow up letter at the beginning of March stating that their records indicate there is currently not a repayment plan in place on my account. They then sent a further letter at the end of March informing me that despite their attempts to speak with me they do not have defined solution for the repayment of the account, therefore they would shortly be instructing Resolvecall Limited to visit my property. At the beginning of April I received a letter from Resolvecall informing me that they would be making a personal visit to my home. Yesterday they visited my property and spoke with my wife (I was at work). After reading various forums I have ignored all correspondence with the above but now after a 'visit' feel intimidated somewhat. I started studying in 1997 so the loan account they refer to is a mortgage style student loan. If I remember correctly, when I finished my course I deferred a couple of times initially and then went travelling etc. and had no further contact with the Student Loans Company for a number of years. Upon returning to the UK and starting to work, I set up a small standing order to pay some of the loan but then stopped this in March 2014. I have not contacted the Student Loans Company in over 10 years probably more, and have never had any dealings with Erudio at all, and as mentioned my last payment to the account was in March 2014. Am I correct in the fact that the debt is now statute barred? Should I send a standard statue barred letter to Capquest or should I not engage at all? Thank you for taking the time to read this post and any advice would be most welcome.
  7. Hi sorry if this has been done to death But i am in all sorts of panic & my stress levels are through the roof Last week I got a letter in the post asking about a debt from a mobile phone company from arrow global resolvecall & I’ve revived a second letter this week saying an agent will be making a visit to my property I no longer live at the property that is my parents house but I do still have some mail sent to the address so I’m always told when i have Mail now at first I wondered what it was as I have had no debts & my credit score Is good I looked into this abit further and it’s from orange phone contract this is a debt and my only debt I had when I was young and lost my job through redundancy, when I say young I mean as far back as 2006, I contacted orange at the time and asked if I had an option for reducing the deal or even cancelling and sending the phone back, which they said couldn’t happen, I didn’t even use the phone I had a ccj on my file for this debt as I couldn’t pay which was removed around 5 years ago, when this was removed I thought that was me starting a fresh with the file as I have not heard anything since the ccj was put on my file so about 11 years I started a mortgage application last month and for this to come up out the blue after this amount a time is so strange & is really affecting me as I’m now worried it might have an affect on my mortgage application is this allowed? what can I do? any help would be greatful thanks
  8. Hello everyone, Ready for a sob story? I fell on hard times years ago after working for a bank (sorry). whilst there I saw/read the terrible things they get up to and do to people regarding insurance/mortgages etc. Seeing these things (and comprehending how they make money out of thin air) made it easier for me to default on a staff loan I had with them when my relationship fell apart and I had to leave the family home and my 18mnth old daughter. I was heartbroken and depressed at the time and not prioritising my finances but instead, trying (legally) to take care of the welfare of my child. I got a ccj for the defaulted loan in December 2015. I had moved and never knew until much later. The original loan was 17k which paid off a previous loan (and debts for the ex) I kept up payments for a while. The ccj is for circa 12k. I’m glad to say that after three attempts to get my daughter to safety, I was awarded custody a few years ago. Sadly my ex drank herself to death early April this year. I currently only work part time on £800 pm due to a collapsed lung which needs surgery. This has been cancelled three times due to Covid. I know I’ve ignored things but Resolvecall have finally caught up with me on the doorstep. I wasn’t in but they left a handwritten card. I am not fussed about my credit history as I don’t ever want credit again/will never afford a mortgage and have a pay as you go phone. My old car is the only thing of value (£1800?). We have very basic stuff otherwise. I do have about £1200 saved for emergencies and a family member has offered to make that up to £2000 to potentially offer them a settlement. What I am fussed about is keeping our heads above water and I have to be honest..if I can get away with not paying them I will. I know some of you won’t like that. So that’s why I’m here I guess - to see if I can keep the wolf from the door. I appreciate that I may get savaged for my attitude but like many others, things are tough right now. I would appreciate your help please no matter how hard it is to hear. Thanks
  9. Hi All, wondering if anyone can help with my situation. Had a card left through the letterbox yesterday from resolvecall saying they tried to visit me regarding my account. called them and asked what the account is referring to, they said a loan with MBNA taken out in 2007 with the last payment being received in October 2009. The loan has since been sold to Arrow global and instructed resolvecall to try and collect. I was silly when I turned 18 credit cards Loans etc and defaulted on a lot of my accounts. Paid some companies back, had a CCJ against me which is also cleared but I’m finally this last year improving my credit score and looking to get a mortgage in 6 months time. currently living with mother in law so I’m glad she wasn’t in when they knocked otherwise would be very embarrassing. On the phone I asked for the original agreement as I don’t recall the debt and they said they will contact arrow global to get this and send it in the post to me, they will also put the account on hold in the meantime. is there anything I can do from here? I thought after 6 years they cannot chase payments. I’ve checked credit file and there’s nothing showing on there for this debt. many help would be greatly appreciated. thanks
  10. I have been on here many times and have always got great advice, so here I am again. I was with Payplan since 2006 and with my debts appearing to get bigger with them, and my ill health, I decided to leave them. Several of the creditors wrote off my debts, which was a relief, but after a year or so of peace, I have had a couple of characters calling at my door from Resolvecall my sister told them to get off our property and don't come back. I have phoned the police as I work in a government agency with a high security level. I rang the police who rang back to tell me Resolvecall are a legitimate company and can call at your door twice in the last couple of days. I said they rang the bell and then started banging on my glass door,, police just said that I should phone Resolvecall, and ended the call. I am very frightened of these callers as there is one of me and two of them. I have no knowledge of any debt owed and they will not give me any information but want me to ring someone on their mobile. I contacted Payplan and they have no record of any debt with the reference number Resolvecall gave me. I have nowhere to turn and even the police are not interested and said it wasn't a police matter.
  11. Good Afternoon everyone. As the title says, My wife was struggling with a credit card with Lloyds which she contacted them and they started the process of stopping the card and put the account into default. recently she got a letter from Wescot saying that the debt is now being managed by them. She recently has just started a new job and got her first wage. spookly, acouple of days after, wescot have texted her saying please get in contact so we can review your account. she is scared that they have seen money come in and she worry's about anything and I have told her to ignore the text but just wanted to make sure. We are not even sure how Wescot have her mobile phone number Thanks Guys
  12. I had a letter last week from Global Arrow about a debt that I am not even sure that I owe. Today I received a letter from Resolve Call claiming to be acting on behalf of Global Arrow and threatening a doorstep visit. I am confused, who do I reply to, Resolve Call or Global Arrow? The thought of a doorstep visit terrifies me and I am concerned for my son who could be here when they visit. Are there any template letters available? Any advice would be much appreciated.
  13. Hi there My apologies if this is repetitive but I hope you can help as I am besides myself with worry. Like many others on this forum, I too am being chased for a student loan taken out approximately in 1994 or 1995. I became mentally ill whereby I was hospitalised so did not complete my 2 yr study. Approximately last couple of years, 2 or 3 'nice' letters from CQ began to arrive offering me a reduced settlement rate, I followed advice received from CB and ignored them as the debt was not on my Credit Report. I received a letter on 16/12 stating that CQ will be referring my details to ResolveCall for them to visit my property. Today, ResolveCall have written to me to confirm their intentions to attend my home within 7 days. - This has left me in a panic mode as I currently have a complex MH issue as well as a severe disability. I am still my MH medication and housebound. Since 1995 I have moved twice . I was again hospitalised in 1997 and unfortunately left me with a life long physical disability. I have been at my present property for over 20 years. I have always been registered on the electoral register. I don't remember ever making a payment or directly contacting the SLC or being notified of any proceedings from SLC regarding the loan - my carer back then was handling my financial details so would assume they would have been contacted and notified them of my illness as I also had other debts (even with CQ) that were successfully managed and paid off. I am not sure what to do now as although your site has a wealth of information, I cannot find anything that relates to my situation . I am confused as to whether the loan is SB considering that it is almost over 25 years old. Many thanks in advance for all you help MB
  14. I today received a letter from Resolvecall on behalf of Arrow Global. They head it Arrow Global Reconection. It says I owe a large sum to Lloyds Tsb and they want me to contact them. However none of the references numbers are ones I recognise and the amount doesnt equate to anything I owe. I did have a small loan that I owed Lloyds but though this was paid and a more than ten year old credit card debt that is Statute Barred. How do I respond?
  15. Just wanted some advice. I have had Cabot writing to me for the last couple of years chasing an old debt which they allege is a co-OP loan. I have ignored them, as well as the previous companies for 10 years. It will be statue barred. They recently changed tactics. They first wrote a letter saying thankyou for the recent payment, then letters saying why have you stopped paying. Then they have instructed resolvecall to visit my home. I have made no payment to them. I have an account with cabot for another debt which I have been paying for 5 years , but never have had any statements from them. I wrote to them when I moved about the change of address but was specific under gdpr that the address was for that account only. They appear to have applied to this other alleged account which they have been writing for. What should I do as it is already stressing me out and I have spent the last 10 years first getting over depression and rebuilding my life! Don't want to go back there again!
  16. Hi everyone ive had a card in an envelope hand delivered today from Resolvecall asking me to contact them urgently. i want to ignore it but I’m not sure that’s the best thing to do? i had some issues some years ago which have now all been resolved to my knowledge. Anything that I may have overlooked will be way over 6 years, I now have a very healthy credit rating with nothing on any of my credit files. I have no idea what these people want and this is the 1st contact. can someone point me in the direction? thanks mike
  17. Hi In 2007 i had a secured loan with Welcome, i got into financial difficulty and stop paying, (house was in negative equity and still is) They chased but as i couldn't afford to repay and they couldn't force me to sell they sort of frittered away for a few years whilst they were in financial trouble. I have now discovered that the 2nd charge on my property has been lifted and on my credit file it says 'settled' There is now a company called MKDP LLP who own the loan which i have found out only be looking at my credit file. what do i do? i think i do nothing! the loan isn't secured anymore, and they would have paid next to nothing for it? Your thoughts please! Hi, similar situation here! http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?414653-Welcome-secured-loan-sold-on welcome sold debt to MKDP LLP ( google them) not heard anything from either, My question to you is. .is the debt a secured debt? Six years is unsecured but 12 for secured( someone correct if I'm wrong) I think welcome sold off debts when they got in trouble to people like MKDP , I'm keeping my ead down!
  18. I got into a massive pickle with debt between 2005 and 2010. This was loans, overdrafts and payday loans. I have since had refunds from some of the payday loan companies and now have good credit rating. I have credit card and a loan which I am up to date with and am hoping to get a mortgage in 2-3 years but an old debt has come to bite me in the bum and I would like some advice. I had a CCJ relating to a student overdraft in around 2008. I buried my head in the sand and moved a lot and never paid it (I know it was wrong) and it has now dropped off my credit file. I had a couple of letters from Robinson Way for a debt which I assumed was statute barred but thinking about it could be the old CCJ. I moved house a couple of months ago and these went to my old address. I know the tenant that moved into my old address and have been told that some credit agency came looking for me. They didn't leave a letter or say who they were from but I did get one from ResolveCall acting for Robinson Way threatening this (I only saw this a couple of days ago as I collected some post) so I assume it was them. I was wondering if anyone could advise me on whether or not old CCJs are enforceable. If this was the original creditor I would be happy to come to an arrangement. However I am loath to pay these bottom-feeders if I don't have to. Obviously it is deeply unfair of me to just leave it as I don;t want them harassing the new tenant or the landlord so leaving it is not an option and I will pay them rather than subject them to DCAs calling. I would be very grateful if anyone could tell me if very old CCJs are enforceable and point me in the direction of template letters. I will communicate with them via email as they can't claim not to have received things should this go any further. As I said above, I have worked hard to repair my credit rating and would hate this to destroy it again so if my only option is to pay I will.
  19. Just a quick update National collections office have today offered on behalf of capquestc a 50% discount on the £940 balance owed This is time limited until 10th October obviously they have no signed credit agreement or they wouldn't be offering a 50% discount Is it safe to say another one out of the milking parlour
  20. Early this morning a man called at my house from ResolveCall asking for my husband. I answered the door, he'd woken me up, when he asked for husband I said "no sorry" and closed the door. He went back to his car only to get out again and knock on at least 2 of my neighbours doors. Due to the early hour no-one answered. The question is what do I do about this visit? Many thanks for any and all assistance. LT
  21. Back in January 2017 I switched banks. Everything seemed to transfer over with no issue until July 2017 when I received a letter from Kwik Fit Insurance Services saying I owed them £107 for a home contents insurance policy. On checking my direct debit list I discovered that no payment had been taken for the direct debit. I had two direct debits with Kwik Fit insurance at the time, one for car insurance the other for contents. I rang the bank who confirmed that Kwik Fit had never applied for the payments to be withdrawn from my account. I sent a recorded delivery letter to Kwik fit and followed up with another letter (again sent recorded delivery) three weeks later after I had heard nothing from them. A month after my second letter I received a letter from Resolvecall to recover the debt on behalf of Kwik fit. I telephoned Resolvecall and explained the situation and asked them to look into the matter. The girl I spoke to said she would and would email me within 14 days. I heard absolutely nothing and (stupidly) assumed it was the end on the matter. Four weeks ago I received a letter from Arc Europe who have now bought this debt and now a letter from Major Law with fees added. They are now asking for £130. Can anyone suggest how I should handle this? I am not denying that this money should have been paid, albeit by monthly direct debit, but I tried to communicate on several occasions first with Kwik Fit and then Resolvecall only to have my requests ignored. I can't take the chance that this could go to court as my job relies on me having no CCJs on my credit file. If I have to pay the money I will (though I wouldn't be able to pay all at once) but I don't think I should have to pay costs. Would it be worth sending a letter to my bank under the bank account switch guarantee? I'd appreciate any advice. Thanks so much in advance.
  22. I’ve been burying my head in the sand for too long now and time to get a hold of my life so here goes.. Bought a motorbike on finance in late 2007 with Black Horse made a few payments on the bike and then fell on hard times, split with partner and moved out. Fast forward to late 2010 and a CCJ lands which I ignore (stupidly) and just leave unattended for £8000. I’ve pulled all the paperwork out and have just noticed my finance agreement doesn’t even have a VIN number or registration number present. This is possibly by the by anyway but I need to start addressing my mess I’m in. I’ve now received a letter from Cabot Financial demanding the full sum of near £7500. I’ve never acknowledged the debt as described above and wonder where do I start with this now ? I still have the bike in my possession and is in amazing condition as it hasn’t turned a wheel for years. Where do I start with addressing this debt and starting to make progress Im now worried and getting anxious about this. Any help would be gratefully received.
  23. We recently had a couple of nasty financial hits involving losing our best customer and Universal Credit shafting us, I contacted all our credit cards and explained the problem, all but Aqua where very understanding, Aqua sent the problem immediately to Resolvecall, who threatened a home visit, so I sent them an email with the standard letter as below, but despite using THEIR ref number they insisted that I told them who I was.. I told them politely to bog off and that any calls to the door and I would prosecute for trespass (see email details below). They emailed me back asking me to confirm my details and I again politely told them to bog off and I don't have to confirm anything to them and NOT to attend as per previous emails. Today they dropped a card into my downstairs neighbours door, so not even using the correct address, so I called them and I must admit did not let the guy speak very much and warned him that any other visits would be repulsed using necessary force. I do now wish to prosecute them for trespass, I do know a solicitor, I fix her computer but she is a employment specialist. Does anyone have any suggestions as to where to go, because I do not want this bully company to just start visiting people DAYS after asking for the creditor for help. I DO intend to sue this company and also make it as public as possible, so that these people cannot think they can walk over us. Gary The First Email (C&P / slightly modified from CAG) Dear Resolvecall Your Ref xxx I do not acknowledge any debt to your company. Please be advised that I will only communicate with you in writing. Should it be your intention to arrange any “doorstep calls”, please be advised that under Office of Fair Trading (OFT) rules, you can only visit me at my home if you make an appointment . I have no wish to make an appointment with you. There is only an implied license under English Common Law for people to be able to visit me on my property without express permission; the postman and people asking for directions etc (Armstrong v. Sheppard and Short Ltd [1959] 2 Q.B. per Lord Evershed M.R.). Therefore take note that I revoke license under Common Law for you, or your representatives to visit me at my property and if you do so, then you will be liable to damages for a tort of trespass and action will be taken, including but not limited to, police attendance. Yours faithfully, Sorry second email back to them I don't have to confirm anything, your reference is in the subject, just look it up in your database. Please note any phone calls or texts will be reported to the ICO as I do not wish to communicate with you any way but postal. Any attendance to our home WILL result in prosecution as you will be trespassing
  24. My wife received a letter today from lantern saying they have been trying to contact her. It says she owes £722.91 but doesn't say who to, it simply has an account number. She has no idea who the debt is with and nothing is on her credit file. They are saying unless she pays up in 7 days they are referring her to resolvecall. How should we deal with this?
  25. Hi folks, hope someone can give me some advice please. I missed a month's direct debit for my electricity supply from edf; they cancelled the direct debit and gradually I fell behind. I used their online chat application and 'spoke' to an operative - I said that as I'm paid weekly I'd be able to repay the outstanding amount at £25 per week, ie £100 every four weeks. The lady said I had to pay by direct debit, £100 a month I said I'd rather pay weekly and she said that she would note that on my account. I set up a standing order and have paid £25 every Friday for the last probably 4 months. The outstanding was about £400-ish, sorry I can't remember exactly. I started getting letters from edf saying I had this outstanding balance that needed to be paid off, then would come home from work to notes through the door from debt collectors saying they'd tried to gain access. This morning I had a letter through the post from Resolvecall saying that they are applying for a warrant to come into my home and fit a prepayment meter and the hearing is on 12 October at my local court house. The amount they say is outstanding is £431.41 I read the meter and sent it to edf last week to see where I was the bill was in the region of £600. Resolvecall letter is dated 25 September and I read the meter before that so their info is out of date. I'm paying this as quick as I can and now I'm worried sick. What should I do please? Thanks in advance
