  1. Hi all, I have a problem that has been going on for a while now and im now finally in a position to fight it properly. The problem is that when I purchased my car from CarCraft around 8 months ago I was told that I got a Free Warranty with it. At no point during the whole process was I told that I had to pay for it. And surprise surprise a couple of months later I found out that I was indeed paying (only when I noticed a random amount being taken from my bank account regularly) for it to a total of £1400 over 3 years! :o Long story short, tried to cancel and both CarCraft and the finance company wouldn't cancel it. No surprise there. The main issue here is that all the documentation has been signed, but on the basis of what I was told...that the warranty was Free and not on the basis of what was actually written. You know how they go through wads of documents, they circle xyz, sign here here and here. A case like this has been fought and won previously, Curtis vs Chemical Cleaning Company. The main question I have now is what is the best way to approach this? Is it best to simply cancel the DD so the finance company take me to court for non payment, then I turn around and fight it that way by stating that the contract is illegal anyway due to the above. Or do I pursuit it myself through the courts and challenge them? If so, who do I challenge? Carcraft of the Finance company? Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks CKS
  2. Ok will try the above in a week or so and let you know how I get on. I paid for the goods via debit card and the watch was £100. The papers I have been given from the shop doesn't actually contain a copy of the warranty, only a receipt stating that I have got one so I cannot look through anything on that side of things. thanx CKS
  3. Would try that but the stone has fallen out somewhere. It didn't happen to drop out whilst on a table, so it has gone forever. With you saying the warranties dont usually cover cosmetics. I was told that it did. Wether she was wrong in telling me that or whatever I dont know, but the point being I took out the warranty for this entire reason. Shall try going to another shop in the new year though. thanx CKS
  4. Hi, in short....I have bought a watch 8 months ago. Thus still under manufacturers warranty. We were told in the shop that you could purchase a 2yrs extended warranty for only £7 which covered anything including any stones falling out. So one has fallen out. Went to shop (H.Samuel's) to get it sent off to be fixed and was told that the warranty didn't cover that! I was told that they could get it sent off to get an quote for the work required, but im not having that! To me this would seem like an act of negligence anyways on their part due to not fitting the stones correctly. Anyone know where I stand on this matter? And what action to pursuit? Should I try a different shop and see what reaction I get after xmas? thanx CKS
  5. Hi, I have just joined up here due to a problem I have got with carcraft. Looks like other members here are too having problems with these people! Anyways basically I bought a car from there about 4 months ago. Upon checking my bank account monthly when receiving my statements I noticed that there was a £29.28 coming out of my account. I thought nothing of it at the time, but then I started wondering what it was that was happening every month. So I tracked it down and found out that it was the 3 years extended warranty provided by NAC. When I was purchasing my car I was told that I got this extended warranty for free. Great!....Or maybe not! So anyways I wrote a letter to them stating that I wanted this canceling (after a phone call to them...telling me to go away!). To which I got a reply saying the same! I have signed next to all of the documents stating that they can take all of the money out, but I was told that it was for the finance for my car. I know I have messed up as I should have read through all of the documents, but I had been waiting there for over 2hrs (no joke!) and I was not about to sit there and read through a massive amount of documents. I signed next to all the figures based on what I was told. That it was for the finance of my car that included a free warranty! Its not like I have abused the warranty (which I believe is useless anyways). I haven't even used it. I dont want to use it. I dont even want it! I just want my money back that they are taking from me for something that is of no use. I believe you guys here are quite helpful when it comes to problem like this. Would be appreciated if you could advise me on what to do next..... Thanks CKS
