  1. Dont know what to say here other than blow me down with a feather !! I have a business account and was , like everybody else , apprehensive about the process. Finally got my act together and wrote via Manchester to Stuart Higley requesting £4640.00 plus £312.70 interest for the charges. No reply to letter 1 !! LBA sent 20th April with list again. One liner reply acknowledging complaint will be dealt with. Just about to file MCOL and got letter today in post Longwinded standard reply blah blah how right the charges are and blah blah we are great etc etc but then the sting in the tail .......... AS A GESTURE OF GOODWILL WE WILL REFUND £4640 TO YOUR ACCOUNT!! ..... no interest but £4-6-4-0 pounds !!! I feel a fraud when I read all the problems everyone is having and there I go and write two letters and get this offer !! Is this a new era for Crap west ..... Has anyone else had it THIS easy ??? I need a drink............................. Regards Simon
  2. Hi all..... Just signing on the dotted line to join this thread. I have a Natwest Business a/c and overdraft with them as well. Usual concerns about them calling the o/d in etc and closing the account but have got in place an alternative business account. Still missing a few statements but looking in the region of £3500 before interest. Couple of Q's Do we send the request to the same address as normal or is there a special Business Dealings address ? Any readers or subscribers gone the whole way yet and had a result on the business side - just for moral support ! Now fired up and ready to go ..........
  3. I hope so . They are totally strangling my business at the moment with their fees. I have myself another account with AL banking but hesitate over Natwest as I have an OD and small business loan which I fully expect to both get called in when something hits the fan. My charges over the past 5 years now with the referral charge added in will amount to nearly £4k .... Ouch ! Thanks for the advice.........
  4. Nattie ... thanks for the note. It is a Business account and just a simple entry :- Detail - Referral Charge for December £120.00 Referral Charge for January £90.00 Referral Charge for May £150.00 Etc Thats it - Thank you for using Natwest and paying this ficticious charge !! Thanks and regards
  5. Thanks for the note. Where will I find the details on the £30 limit and max of 3 per month. I DO have £250 in one month and several months over £125 Seemed to me that they were just "rounded" nice figures they could get away with. Thanks and regards
  6. I have been charged on and off over the past 4 years something called "refferral charge" by natwest. In effect this was their inhouse discussion as to whether to pay a cheque or SO / DD. This has been up to £250 on some months . Any views on whether this should be reclaimed as well ? Thanks and regards
  7. I too am with Natwest and have a Business Manager from hell that doesnt care. I got the standard letter saying to improve service blah blah we are now giving you a new business manager in a branch at least another 35 miles away from you and in a place you will never want to visit !! Since then - no contact , no return of calls , no advice - nothing , only the odd call from her assistant who used to work part-time for sainsburys I believe as i found out from my old business manager !! I complained to the area manager who gave me the " very busy with customers and general management issues " answer. Thats about the sum of it I'm afraid..... another customer resigned to the fact of getting rid of Natwest and their business manager ASAP.
  8. Please help point me in the right direction for this . I , as many others have a problem with Cap1 on a credit card. I have just checked my experian and equifax scores and have a 999 with Experian and 498 with Equifax but am still having difficulties with e remortgage with our current lender which is Intelligent Finance. I was late paying Cap1 on a few occasions although I did make large payments when I had the cash (£150 at a time ) over a period of 5 months and finally brought the account up to date with a £650 payment and have since paid all on time. On my file with Equifax I have recorded late payments from Cap 1 and a delinquent balance figure - No defaults etc and nothing else. I am now having rpoblems with requests from IF to show there is no default ( Surely that is clear when it says no default and they must know how to read these reports ) and I need to get a specific letter from Cap1. Now after lots of aggro I finally got a letter from Cap1 stating no defaults although there were late payments. Then IF stated they wanted a letter from Equifax stating no defaults ....... again this clearly shows on the report and Equifax state they dont do these sort of requests. I spoke at length to Cap1 -( yes an english person in Nottingham in the "Executive Office" no less ) who stated the payments I made would not have take me out of the late payment bracket and the details reported were correct. As usual when I spoke to the Indian Cap1 they were only interested in how much you will pay , would you like a loan and can we activate your card !! - No mention of the effect of making the payments and not being credited back to the latest payments. Finally - my point........ What effect does the delinquent balance figure do to my report ? Is this just another set of hoops from IF I am going through before they again say "no" Cap1 acknowledged they didnt explain anything at all at the time of the late payments but say , hey so what ! My Experian report is exemplaray and very high ... why such a difference between the 2 market leaders in the CRA industry ? Should we just try a lender that uses Experian and not Equifax ? ( any ideas ?) My wife has a score of 476 with Equifax by the way ? Am I just being paranoid after reading too many posts ? Any and all advice would be gratefully appreciated when you finally get to the bottom of thi s post ....... :)
  9. Just a question on general penalty charges. If you have a letter clearly stating that a penalty charge is being imposed and this may in some certain circumstances be very high , do the same principles apply for the Unfair Terms in Consumer Regulations Act . I know we have to be careful where a Company is concerned as they are an entity and not a person but do the same broad details apply. I ( my accountant ) failed to submit accounts to Companies House on time - 2 month late and we have had a £250 penalty imposed. Now there has been no material loss to anyone and as far as I can see this is again just a computer generated letter - no one has died or anything due to the 2 months late on accounts ? Where does this one lie within these regulations ? Thanks and regards
