The US Dollar is weakening and petrol prices are going up. This does not make sense. Because of the weakening US Dollar we in the UK are in a position to buy things priced in dollars for fewer pounds, so why is petrol going up when oil is priced in dollars? I know that oil prices are going up, but there is no economic reason why prices at the pump should be going up in the UK. Its another case of the majority of people have no idea what any of this means so lets take this opportunity to fleece them. If this is not the sort of thing to be posted here - I apologies - but it is something no-one seems to be addressing anywhere that I can see

and what do the banks think a telegraphic transfer means? Used to get our money the day after such a transfer was made from most parts of the world - now it seems to always take exactly seven days or more - and one occasion when sending a TT it took exactly one calender month for the money to turn up - am I being cynical or are the banks making money by using other people money? And are small companies more likely to be hit by this then the big ones? If this is posted in the wrong place sorry:(

yesterday got the letter to tell me that they are going to close my account. today got a letter from Wragge & Co telling me that they have been appointed by A&L. I thought it was all over! - or maybe there are so many of us claiming back that they are in a muddle at A&L - I wouldnt want to be working for any of the banks right now! tealady

I also got this letter yesterday - and there is a procedure to go through now, will find it and the link - if any moderators go by before I have the time please let us see the link - thank you. Did you open a parachute account when you first started the procedure? There will be a few of us all complaining about the retalatory action that A&L are engaged in. tealady

Thank you every one for all your congrats. - Am waiting now for the balance that they owe me before I tell the court it is settled - also waiting for the letter that tells me that they are going to close my "dormant" account. Now got to get it together to go after the credit card companies - but need to find out what will happen if I have repayment arrangement with them and they have also all put my interest on hold - so going to find all the relevent forums on here and start reading again - dont want to upset the apple cart at this stage just as its all under control! Mind you amongst some of the people that I forwarded it to in the wider world I was absolutly shocked by some of the reactions - there are people out there who believe that those of us who are so "careless" with our bank accounts and incur charges should subsidise those who are lucky enough to have sufficient funds never to find themslves in a situation to be surcharged - so in effect the poor should subsidise the rich! They believe that they cannot possibly sign our petition because they will inevitably have to pay for having a bank account. (mind you I am old enough to remember when every one who had a bank account paid - but in those days you could live easily without one!) tealady

yes but when you go to sign you can see how many people have signed:shock: Petition to: bring in new legislation to prevent the current abuse by banks and companys in relation to Penalty charges. and I did send it to every one I know in the wider world!

why is it that only a very small amount of the membership have signed this petition - come on everyone make your mark please:D

In the post today one from the court - hearing necessary before a final decision about allocation to be made (notice of Allocation or List Hearing) and a date (should not be attending as long as the cheque that came in the post today doesnt bounce). There is a letter attached which reads Just curious to know if a lot of the courts are doing this now? This is being done for whom? Be interested to know your opinions. Keep fighting the good fight tealady
