  3. Got a surprise this morning in the post, both £10 cheques were returned, with the following letter, could anyone please advise if this is acceptable, or am I being sold short. Dear Mr M Data Protection Act- Data Subject Access Request Thank you for your request to access the information we hold about you, which is your right under the DPA 1998. I note your request for a list of all charges applied to both current accounts on the above plan or alternatively a set of bank statements. Please note this is not classed as personnel information therefore,we are not required to provide this as part of the DSAR and ordinarily we would charge £5.00 per copy statement. I have however detailed below a summary of any charges, which have been appiled to both current accounts and the date of application. There is no charge for this service on this occasion therefore, please find enclosed the return of both your cheques for £10. AccXXXXX AccXXXXX dd/mm/yyyy £xxx dd/mm/yyyy£xxx dd/mm/yyyy £xxx dd/mm/yyyy£xxx Etc,etc,etc (totalled to £364) Regarding your request to provide confirmation of any manual intervention on your account, we are under no statutory obligation to record this information and thus are unable to assist further with this request. if you require details of your credit reference information you should contact Equifax plc, (address provided).   4. I put that one down to experience ! stature of limitation does this vary from loan/credit agreement, how would you find this? Regards M

Had similar situation in 1997, got a letter saying I owed £73 pound from a parasitic debt collection agency in Preston can't remember name, claiming I owed it to the Co-op regarding a washing machine purchased in 1991. Never had a letter/phone call from Co-op saying I was in arrears because I wasn't, finance settled in full. The parasites asked me to show records of this, I went to CAB and told to pay it as it was less than 7 years and I couldn't prove it. I 've keep every bill and receipt since then, shame this site wasn't around.
