  1. Hi All, it has been some time since i originally posted. Unfortunately, it has been a tough few months and i haven't been able to do much for personal reasons. Back on track now and thought i had better get up to speed! Prelim letter with charges schedule was sent 14 days ago. I actually received the usual "we will be in touch" letter a fews days later from our "friend" Mr Langdale! As it is now 14 days since prelim letter, i will be sending LBA by recorded post tomorrow. One question i wanted to ask: My partner and I share a joint account, seperate to the one i am claiming on, also with the HSBC. If i were to file a claim under my partners name, would it affect the chances of them closing my own personal current account? Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks for everyone's help so far.
  2. Hi All, a prosperous New Year to you all! I received my 6 years bank statements over the festive period and am about to start proceedings properly. Can anyone advise the best spreadsheet to use to work out the amounts owed? The majority of my charges from the HSBC are listed as "Total Charges", mainly for being over an overdraft limit. Many thanks.
  3. Hi Bong, bad use of english on my part! I meant to ask if anyone at a similar stage could join my thread to compare where we are as far as time scales for replies etc. Thanks again!
  4. OK! Initial request for breakdown of charges sent to my bank today. If anyone else is just starting their claim, i would appreciate some correspondence as a comparison??? Thanks.
  5. Just wanted to say thanks to Bong and Lateralus for their prompt replies! Cheers!! I have just begun to put the wheels in motion.
  6. Hi to everyone. The site looks really helpful. I have read the FAQ's and browsed a lot of the threads. One question before i start the process of claiming the unknown hundreds and hundreds from the HSBC: What chances are there that the HSBC will actually close my a/c? I have been advised to open a "parachute a/c", but was wondering if anyone had any real stats on a/c's closed? At the moment i have my current a/c, mortgage, life insurances etc all with HSBC and it worries me!!! Hope someone out there can help. Cheers
  7. Hi All, just signed up because a friend happened to mention many people were claiming charges back from their bank. I have lost count of the money taken over the past 6 years! I have read the FAQ's and browsed this and a few other sites. My first concern, before i start the process of claiming, is how likely it is that the bank in question will close my a/c? Does anyone know the statistics on this? Many thanks, i look forward to gaining some invaluable knowledge.
