Sorry been away for while. Thanks everyone for your replies. I will start the ball rolling then, as I already have the statements somewhere, which cost me 10 quid! As for Credit reports I had a recent-ish credit report which hadn't shown anything negative up for cahoot as yet, but had a nasty mark from Northern Rock credit card because there was a delay from an advance from Northern Rock Mortgages, but thats for another day. Thanks.

Quick Question for anybody before I go ahead and start making a claim against cahoot. What is the chance of my employer finding out I am making a claim against a bank? Such as credit reports etc. The reason I am asking is that I very often get offered IT jobs with financial institutions etc. I have been offered a position with a high street bank and as far as I know they will do credit checks etc on employees. My concern is that If I make a claim while working for one or have made one in the past will I be able to remain anonymous? I would like to throw cahoot to the coals as they have ***** approx £1800 of mine in the last 5 years. However will this jepordise my chances of getting a job or do I have to right this off. It is my money after all. Any answers would be appreciated.
  5. This is fantastic, good luck with the case. Will be doing mine soon.
  6. I have to say I'm am very sorely tempted to try this but as its a safety net for elsewhere I am a little reluctant on this occasion . However if the need arises soon..... Keep up the good work folks.
  7. I am just about to open an account with A&L as a parachute - I'm currently with Cahoot - but was curious whether you could state when you open an account that you disagree or dispute any charges they make that would be considered unlawful, punitive etc. I know they could turn round and say sod off, but normally with a contract, a business one anyway, you would hammer out the terms and eventually agree on the end result. Has anyone considered this?

Today I had the following email from Cahoot. Dear Mr Spork I am writing with regards to your recent letter concerning charges applied to your cahoot account. In your letter you are specifically interested in is the charges applied to your accounts since they were opened. I can confirm that the charges on your accounts have been as so:.................... Then a list of the charges and dates. There is no indication of what each charge is for and no way of confirming wether is it accuarate or not, especially as some of the dates appeared to be mixed up. Anyway the total amount comes to just around £1450. I am surprised at this as I thought it was a lot more. I am inclined to remind them that the clock is still ticking, any suggestions? .
  9. Hi I have spent several years suffering and putting up with the banks ruthless determination to rob me of every penny I have. To the extent that my credit rating is shafted, I am having to sell prized posessions in order to keep afloat and more recently my marriage is suffering and my kids think I don't want to spend any money on them! Not any more. I've read the FAQs, and the various forums and I'm not prepared to allow this daylight robbery to happen to me anymore. Good luck everyone and well done for having the strength to fight.
