Right, are you sitting comfortably, then I will begin. I was self employed and I decided to give up my business. I was aware that I owed money to a company, so when I closed my buiness I wrote to them and told them I was closing, can I have a bill and gave them my address to send any correspondence too. I heard nothing. So rather stupidly I never chased it up. Anyway, 2 YEARS later I received a leter through my door from an high court enforcement company threatening to take my car. I called them up - explained the situtation. Apparently the debt had already gone to court and they had sent me numerous letters but guess what to an address that I had not lived at for 5 years. Hence I never received anything. So you can imagine, how many fees and charges have put onto this bill. As I didn't want them to take my good I agreed to pay them an amount each month. The charges are in excess of £1000 plus the bill. I wrote to them and explained this but they said I had to pay everything. I was also pregnant at the time when this letter popped throught my door and since then I have miscarried. I am not saying I blame them but the stress can not have helped. Is there any way I can claim back any charges etc. Any help would be apprreciated. THANK YOU

Hello there. New to this Barclaycard thread, so here goes: Sent of SAR Got statements in 2 sep batches. Sent letters requesting money. 1st £190 plus int. 2nd £400 plus int. Got letters back - standard letters £12 dif blah blah blah OFT etc and they have refunded £175 to card. Sent back letter saying accept as part payment etc. Sent LBA's. Received letter back saying sorry not happy with refund. They believe it is fair - as when i opened account i signed terms and conditions etc. If reply does no meet with my expectations refer to Financial ombudsman. Help, what do I do now. Should i do MCOL now or will they really not pay out anymore.

At last got myself a nice cheque this morning from Cobblers......... its about £350 short but I can live with that as can't be bothered doing my court bundle etc. Got the usual letter etc about confidentiality etc and writing to the court blah blah blah. I will write to the court, put cheque in bank and then write to Cobblers - is there a standard letter. A BIG BIG BIG BIG THANK YOU TO EVERYONE THAT HAS HELPED ME - YOU ARE ALL STARS. Donation on way when cheque clears. Another victory for the CAG xxxxxxx
