  1. thanks, they did come back with a breakdown and said any deductions would be taken at the hourly rate that applied at the time. my ex-manager is having another l,ook and he reckons there could be about 100 hrs to knock off the bill. my issue is that they wanted to me to agree to a rate without knowing how much i owed in hours or money. i know from my own you never tell someone they have a debt but we can't tell you how much but can you start paying it. back in on friday and i will defo go and see a rep, if i owe them money then fair enough tell me how much, they have totally destroyed any good will i had towards them.
  2. to clarify, there are no problems contacting a rep, i got my employer to back off by threatening to go and see one. we have had a leave audit and loads have been caught out. it is being treated as an informal matter. My problem is they wanted to take deductions before telling me exactly how many hours are owed, which they don't know, and how much they will cost again which they don't know. thanks for all your responses all appreciated.
  3. we had a meeting where they produced a year by year breakdown of the hours owed, this has since been called into question as it's possible some of the hours may have been duplicated. they can't tell me how many hours i owe they can't tell me how much money i owe i haven't been to see a union rep, although that may change.
  4. they came to me with a year by year breakdown which is now being looked at again as it seems to be too high. i haven't signed off on anything yet. haven't been to see a rep the threat was enough to get them to back down.
  5. have been in discussions with my employer regarding taking too much leave in the last few years. they said they would let me know how much was owed and then deductions could start. yesterday they come to me and basically said we don't know how much you owe but we are going to start taking the money out of your wages. told them that was unprofessional at least, they said they could do what they like. previously this had all been amicable, but they changed things, i said i would go and see a union rep and they eventually backed down. went home in a right rage and think this was responsible for the asthma attack i had later on. should they not tell me how much i owe before starting any deductions? thanks as ever.
  6. she originally had a loan and a credit card which she combined. the agreement from marksies breaks down the amount owed and the interest rate giving a total amount repayable as £17k.
  7. Hello, been a very long time since i posted on here, lots of goods things mostly, anyway looking at some old post and noticed my wife has a debt to dg solicitors. the amount is £17000 and breaks down thus loan £13000 interest £4000. dca are looking to recover £17000 are they entitled, loosely speaking, to this or should it just be the loan? any help/advice much appreciated.
  8. Hi All, i have an outstanding debt with cahoot which has been passed to these. i pay £25 per month, this month i must have underpaid by £5. Last night i got a call from apex saying santander were after legal action over £5. They wanted me to do inc/exp over the phone and were unhappy when i refused. Something stinks about this threat, think they are just after an increase, don't have a problem with that just object to being threatened. any opinions much appreciated as usual.

  10. my missus is not too good at the moment and is getting calls from aqua which she does not want to take. we sent a letter requesting they remove our number and contact her in writing only. we received a letter back saying basically get stuffed they could call a coule of times a day. they have refused to remove her number. anyway they have started to call again and then hang up when we answer. any suggestions please? cheers.
  11. hmrc have brought in a new security procedure which will lead to password set up. iou will be directed to n order to get the to the password stage you have to pass a number of security questions, it is my understanding that these questions are generated by experion they do not provide any answers, so if you are asked who your mortgage is with the person on the other end does not have access to that answer. i fthere is not enough information held on you by experion you will be sent to an enquiry centre. i was told there is no way round this.
  12. thanksn no i haven't gat a scanner, the date is june 2005. it looks like it was what she was signed but it does look like an application form. thanks very much, all help much appreciated.

  14. Allied finally provided a copy of the agreement for wifes credit card. Thing is it looks odd to me. this is what it says: lloyds tsb classic credit card acceptance form and agreement. wifes details additional benefits sign here for your card credit agreement regulated by cca 1974 don't forget to take advantage of special transfer rates wifes typed name. bank sortcode agent id typed. on a 2nd sheet of paper are the card conditions. 1 main financial paticulars credit limit (see also5) -there is no 5 charges see 5&9 - ther is no 5 or 9 your payments see7 -no 7 variations see 11 - there is no 11 there is no credit limit or proper signature from the bank, so is this enforceable or is it an application form? any help very much appreciated, thanks.
  15. give them a ring and tell them the truth, sounds like you may be missing out on your child tax credit. if you have an overpaymen you will be able to pay it back over a period time, you may be able to dispute it. Don't run from them or ignore them they won't go away. What are you doing about your other debts? look on the site and you will be able to get advice on dealing with dcas. get advice, get a plan and stick to it, good luck.
  16. the letter just told me i was in arrears with my loan, already knew that, just asked if they had sold it on and she said no, not received any letter from apex, have been paying them for over 12 months. thanks for all replies, much appreciated.
  17. just had an interesting conversation with a nice lady at cahoot. i have been paying apex for an old loan, got a letter today from cahoot, phoned them and asked them if they had sold the loan on, she said they had not, they are only collecting the debt on their behalf. Where do i stand in dealing with them, obviously i would rather deal with cahoot, got no complaints with apex but obviously don't want to deal with parasites.
  18. I attended a catholic secondary school in the 80's and religion was a big stick used to beat us with. There was only one way. One incident i remember was when aids was starting to make the news and there was a lot of ignorance about, anyway a lad in my year filled a condom with water and lobbed it at someone else. All the lads were called into the main hall and given one hell of a rollicking from the deputy head who was fearsome, thing is i remember sitting there and thinking there is this major disease out there and they are reacting like this over a condom, they actually told us we shouldn't know what a condom is. That is one reason why i hate religion, there is so much intolerance and hatred, not to mention corruption that i wouldn't want them any where near my kids. i will let my kids find out for themselves their own beliefs, but i want them to see all sides.
  19. don't have any dealings with them just used to work there and like to keep up to date.
  20. totally agree with all the above. we feared the postman coming but now i am back in work we have agreements in place that suit us and the debts are coming down, just cleared our first, don't get any hassles from dcas.
  21. HMRC are using debt collection agencies, does anyone know who is being used?
  22. If you did not do the annual declaration there is very little chance of you being successful in any appeal. But if you don't as you don't get. Try for extenuating circumstances.
  23. when you are on income support it means you get the maximum child tax credit award, as you have told them your income support as ended all they will do is calculate your award based on you income from last year or your estimated income for this year. DWP may want back any overpaid income support though
  24. you should be entitled to the at least the basic child tax credit award of £547.50, you need to dispute the over payment, nothing to lose.
  25. if your current year estimate is lower then they will use that figure, but you must tell them about the smp.
