  4. Received a reply from first letter - finally Saying they are involved with the OFT because they are a store card, offered £30 to settle, and recommend the Direct Debit, first time been offered this facility. They owe me £35 should I settle for £30 and set up the DD or fight it out for the full £35 plus interest by going to court? Perhaps a bit petty to fight for the £5 plus - might give them a ring and try and bend their arm.
  5. They totally ignored my request for repayment - what a surprise Sending 2nd Letter Before Action 19 June - then will file the court claim in two weeks time. Perhaps they will ignore that too.
  6. Halifax settled in full via my bank accounts and the usual letter saying it is too expensive to go to court and to look after my account. £750 plus interest and cost settled in full Started 22nd March - Settled 17th June Thanks for all your support and advice Got to push on with Argos claim now.
  7. No response from my accepting a partial refund of charges, past my deadline date, no other option than to pursue the court action. Claim in place, waiting for their next move. Claim acknowledge, they are going to defend Still waiting for their settlement
  8. Thanks for the advice I have written a letter saying I will only accept as partial payment and will still go ahead with court action if full amount not offered by 30th May.
  9. Letter received in response to my LBA offering £275 as a full and final settlement, they owe me £750 plus interest. Plus the threatening to close my account if I do not manage it correctly - should I ask them what they mean exactly by this? Do I take the £275 as a partial payment only and continue to claim through the small claims court when the 14 days are up for the remainder £475? Is this a delaying tactic or to prove they tried to settle?
  10. Talk about delaying tactics, Argos ignorned my first letter, responded to my second asking for £10 DPA then 40 days, I know it was only one payment of £20 but don't have the date, will have to send the £10 to get it moving again..... Can't believe with the holiday forgot to pay this month, got charged £17.50 and found the last statement when I had to pay charges - don't need the DPA then. Will send LBA asking for money back now
  11. I sent the letter requesting a refund 2 weeks ago, no response whatsoever to this.. therefore posting LBA tomorrow giving them another 14 days until I claim. Want to get my £700 back soon....
  12. Thank you for that Alan, I have now sent a Letter to request the charges of £70 to be refunded. Regards
  13. I haven't heard anything from Argos since my letter, no communication at all except their next statement. I know there was only one late payment charge of £20 but not sure when this was. Will request for this as a refund - but do I need the exact date to proceed?
  14. Received one letter saying we are looking in your complaint, followed by another saying we need the £10 for DPA, before I sent the £10, received another letter with the statements free of charge. This now poses a question, I have been charged around 5 times at £10 each for over credit limit plus once at £20.... Can I claim for charges below the £12? ie £10 each or only for over this amount?
  15. The statements have arrived, via Royal Mail, in a plastic bag.... envelope completely ripped open in transit, everything seems intact - but the security issue is of concern. They have added their own calculations of the charges, which seem misleading, some are added (not on the statements) and some for last month are missing. Going to go through and put everything in the excel document to my calculations. Will send the letter asking for a refund tomorrow. Can't believe they actually arrived - charges in the region of £700. - noticed some missing asked from April 2000 - statements started from Jan 2001.... I have been through the library and a bit confused - I am going to send a letter requesting a refund, do I add the interest now, or when i go to court?
