Hi guys Yes i got my s/ments after another 5 days, sent prelim then LBA and today i have come home to a letter from the halifax to settle in full at £3032 but i have a charge coming out of my account on friday 9/3/07 for £39.00, so i rang the guy up to say i would settle if they reversr the charge on friday and he said no the charges are untill 6/03/07, this really got my back up and i explained that if i carry on tp court that they will have 8% to pay as well, he just replied that you do not have to accept it its up to you, now coz i am angry i dont no what to do shoul i continue or cut my losses and run with the money please Help !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ! Help Needed Just recieved a letter from the halifax regarding settling at £3032 so i rang the guy up named Kevin and explained there is another charge to come out on Friday 9/3/07 for £39.00 and could it be reversed. He said this settlement is up to yesterday 6/3/07, i no it is only 1 charge but it has really got my back up because they wont reverse it or refund it, not sure what to do weather to accept the seetlment or continue to court and get the 8% which i pointed out to him and he just said well you do not have to accept it is up to you, should i accept or what please help!!!!! Hi SSLady My advice would be to ring them , i was in the same boat as you and when i rang and chased up s/ments they hadnot even been ordered even though they had cashed the £10.00 cheque, so when i rang she re-ordered them and they arrived about 5 days later (just to be on the safeside) Regards Giggles

Hi Everyone WELL OH MY GOD got a phone call at home tonight about 7.00pm from a guy named Kevin to discuss my case, to cut a long story he said what offer would you accept to resolve this matter, i replied as the charges are all unlawful my only offer woul be the full amount of £3086 he has disputed the amount and says it is £3032 due to a refund i got from them in Nov on three charges, so i agreed and he was ever so nice and said he would send a letter to me to sign and return and the money woul be in the bank within 14 days after recieving my letter, i am in total shock i have been on line preparing my MCOL but not gonna need it hopefully. Untill i recieve the money the champers is staying in the ice, i am so thrilled i cant believe it i would also like to thank everyone on the site who has helped me and as soon as i recieve the dosh a donation will be coming your way Regards Giggles

Hi there after reading yur thread you should definately go for the rest why should they get away with it whatever the amount they are still unlawful, have you read the news of the world today big article on banks ripping us off, i think they are in for a very big shock, keep at them regards giggles i sent my lba on thursday 1st march for £3100 awaiting there reply

HI guys just a quick update, 14 days prelim up tomorrow 28th feb recieved the standard letter it takes up to 4 weeks, i have prepared my LBA with spreadsheet waiting to fire off on Thursday 1st March which will take me to the 15th march then if still not heard will file N1 OR online watch this space. regards Giggles

Well hello everyone just a little update, sent prelim letter 12th feb halifax recieved 14th feb(lovely valentine letter) today have recieved a letter from them which i know is a standard letter which goes. We are sorry to learn that you are unhappy with the charges debited to your bank account and so on do i just carry on to the 14th day deadline and send my LBA the 28th feb as normal and just ignore there 4 week update progress as ststed in the letter. regards giggles

Hi Guys i am a bit dissapointed i requested s/ments for 2 accounts with the halifax they have only sent for one which the Grand total is £3,086 thought it would be more but hey this is good enough. Hi everyone just a little update, as it is now the 5/2/07, i decided to give the halifax a little phone call to chase up my s/ments, to my horror the girl told me there has been no request for them , i was fuming, i told her i had recieved an acknowledgement letter on the 17/01/07 and the s/ments would follow in 10 working days. So to cut a long story short she has re-ordered the s/ments today and says they will be with me in the next 7-10 days, i new this wasnt going to be straight forward for me coz nothing ever is, any way i wait in hope, there 40 days are up on the 20th feb so which ever comes 1st the s/ments or the deadline i will keep you posted. regards giggles

Hi Blackcupraa I think that is fab news WELL DONE mines a brandy and coke lol, Well i chased my statements up with the halifax today and to delight (not) they told me that the s/ments ahve not even been sent out i was furious but she has re ordered them and said should be with us in 7 - 10 days i wait in anger regards giggles
