  1. Thanks once again, i'm not 100% it was 6 years ago but it would be very very close and i am certain it was cancelled almost immediately with nothing owing. I have e-mailed BCW a copy of the template i was kindly given on here and i am awaiting their reply. I have always wondering how anyone could actually work for one of these companies, perhaps they have been bullied at School or something. If they send people letters of this sort and their is no evidence of the recipient actually owing any money can they sue these companies?
  2. Thanks fuzzybobble and Saintly1, i do have very vague recollection of having a short lived account with them that i cancelled immediately and i'm certain i owe them nothing, not sure if it is over 6 years but it could very well be over 6 years, should i ask them for a copy of my signed declaration to T Mobile and a copy of the alleged bill?. Thanks once again.
  3. I have just received today a formal demand from Buchananclark+ wells for an alleged debt of £27.00, the pursuers are Lowell Portfolio 1 ltd and the creditor is T-Mobile (uk) Ltd, BCW have been instructed by lowell to recover this debt. I did have a very shortlived contract with T Mobile probably at least 6 years ago which i cancelled and i belive i had no debt and this is the first i have heard of it until today. Should i write to BCW and request a copy of my original joining statement with T Mobile as well as proof of the debt or just leave it alone?. I know it is not advised to phone these companies or enter any agreements with them. Any help would be much appreciated
  4. Yet again the self promoting "right on " ethical bank have proved that it's all spin by charging me £30 twice for two failed direct debits to the equally "wonderful" Virgin Media who have taken out 2 direct debits on the wrong date without notifying me in advance. I did claim Bank charges back successfully from Co-op 18 months again but have heard they are not paying out whilst this court case is on, any advice?
  5. For some bizarre reason VM take out seperate Direct Debits for my Broadband and the TV/phone and V plus however the broadband bill is never posted to me and the direct debits do NOT come out on the same day. I have tried to get some sort of feedback from them but getting through on the phone is difficult so i was horrified to see they tried without notifying me in advance and as a result no money was in the account on that given day ( i am paid weekly and tend to take mosy if not all out on pay day) and the "right-on" hypocritical co-op bank duly took £30 in comission, this morning i checked online and found out teh same thing had occured yesterday on another completely random day hence another £30 to those masters of spin Co-op, has anyone else suffered this from the totally incompetent Virgin Media?, any advice?
  6. Has anyone ever actually been taken to Court on a debt of over 6 years by these scumbags, if so what happened?. Has anyone actually heard anything on TS and OFT actions against this lot?.
  7. Would people advise me to ignore the letter completely or return it to them with "Not at this address"?
  8. So is it basically a case that they are trying it on and haven’t got a leg to stand on as these dates are over 6 years so they are trying to bully people and play on their fears to admit their debt or make a payment?.
  9. Thanks for your advice they sound like absolute ****, should i juist ignore or return saying not at this address?. Can outside companies get your information if you apply for a credit check?, i have never had one but i'm a bit worried that these slimeballs might get more information about me if i do.
  10. I have read this site and they sound horrendous i will not phone them and for the life of me i have no idea what this debt will be, is it always debt from 6 plus years ago?.
  11. I have just got a letter from this "Company" out of the blue asking for me to contact them on a personal matter. i have no idea what this is about shoudl i just ignore it or return the letter to them them saying not known at this address?. I have never had a credit check if i apply for one can outside companies track me down from this ot are credit checks completely ebtween me and the credit check company.
  12. I have today just recieved a summons for unpaid council tax fromOctober 06 to Apr 07 even though i was not living in the property. The Property is owned by my Sister and she moved out in september 06 to a new property and the plan was for me to move into the property the Council was notified about this plan but very soon after i moved into her new place and immediately the Council was notified. There was zero correspondance re council tax bills from October 06 until March 07 so one would normally assume that everything was hunky dory and they were aware that i did not move into the property,i subsequently moved into another place in May 07 and i then received with the Council tax another bill for the property i did not move into , i contacted them spoke to somebody and he said he was aware of it all and everything was in hand, nothing was hard until July 07 when i recieved another bill for the property i did not live in so yet again both me and my Sister contacted them via the phone and e-mail, it was virtually impossible to get through on the phone but we did receive a reply to one of the many e-mails which was not terribly thorough and they asked for proof ie bills and bank statements i like amny others do all my banking online and all the bills i contributed in cash to my Sister so i have no proof that i lived there however they ahve no proof taht i lived in the original address and i have proof that they were notified on numerous occasions that i was living with my sister, i would be most grateful for any advice becaus ei am NOT going to let this incompetent Council screw me, in the alst few weeks we have both written to them recorded delivery and e-mailed and had no reply at all, i also have the date and time and the name of the person i spoke to in May ..please help. Mnat thanks in advance
  13. I was a student until 1994 taking out a student loan of around £3000, about 6 months ago ago i got a letter saying i was in arrears of £160 because apparently about 6 years previously i was late in getting back to them the form stating that i hadn't earmed the amount required to start making payments, at no stage since 1994 have i had the income required to make payment and my income is still relatively little so i agreed to pay back around £40 a month for 4 months, i am a couple of weeks late with my last payment and i have just recieved a threatening letter from them stating i need to pay the £40 within 7 days as well as £30 charges and if i don't there is a list of all sorts of things that can happen such as having to pay the entire loan off, legal action, debt collection agencies etc, on the back is a list of all their charges i,e arrears letter £20, recalled or dishonoured payment £15etc. I have spoken to them on the phone and found them all agressive, dogmatic and downright rude, can i and should i stand my ground about the £30 and if i pay it can i claim it back a la bank and credit card charges, normally for £30 i woudl not be too fussed but their appalinga ttitude has really riled me, another thing the letter was sent to an old address which i lived in until December when they are well aware i moved to a new address then the letter dated the 13th which i only received today states i need to apy within 7 days or else..... Please help if you can witha ny advice and any dealings people may have had with this organisation. Kind regards Philip
  14. Have been screwed royally over the years by this so called "Ethical" bank who have more spin than New labour, wote to them 6 week back had three letter back saying they need more time to investigate should i send the second letter?.I'm sick of their smug "right on" attitude because when push comes to shove they are NO different than any other bank. My claim was for £560, i have an overdraft of £220 and have a loan of £3500 of which £800 is still owing i pay a certain amount every month and should be clear of this in June i believe, i'm concerned that if they pay up they might close my account and then make me pay the loan off in one go. I have no gripe with teh general staff i have dealt with at the bank who have always been very good but their marketing , management and the rest leave a lot to be desired.
