NatWest have made me a pitiful offer and HSBC have failed to come up with anything. Together my charges amount to over £1800.00. I am now going to take legal action but I am the first to admit this is a bit of a minefield for me. Can anyone help me? Do you know which forms I need to fill out and where I can locate them? Has anyone got any timelines from starting legal proceedings to coming to a successful conclusion? Any help and thoughts are much appreciated. Patrick

So far I have received my statements and sent a breakdown of my charges which total more than £800. They have responded with an offer of £150, saying that this is generous as the illegal charges don't relate to overdraft facilities and/or the non-payment of standing orders and direct debits. After the threat of court action they have said they won't up the offer and have told me where to serve the court papers. Does anyone know whether they are correct on this and whether I should accept the offer or whether I stand a good chance if I take them to court?
