1. Hi Thanks for the comments, The outcome i want is to leave the club. The way i have been treated and spoken to by the staff at my local club regarding this issue has left a very bad taste in my mouth. I will do as you say and write head office outlining the situation. Cheers Mark
2. I am a member of Virgin active and have gone past the 12 month tie in period and am free to leave any time and this has been confirmed by the club. Last month i missed the membership payment due to financial problems. I have been unable to use the gym due to this. The club stated that i had to pay double this month to bring the account back in line and to be able to start using the club. I explained my financial position and stated that i was unable to pay double but can afford to pay the single months fee. They say that until the arrears are clear i cannot use the club. I wrote to them giving 1 months notice of cancellation of the membership. They have refused to cancel the membership until the arrears are cleared which i cannot do. Effectively i will be paying for a membership which i cannot use or cancel because i cannot pay to bring the account back in line. I have just paid out £140 for swimming lessons also which i am not allowed to use. I have cancelled the direct debit Any advise
3. Thanks for the replies. I have sent a letter asking for all evidence ie CCTV witness statements etc etc . I have pretty much asked them to take it to court so lets see what response i get.
4. Thanks Honeybee13, i had a load of post back in 2006/07 but been in hiding for as few years
5. Hi Yes i have read the oxford case and lots of other research and forum posts. I wasn't going to reply to the letter but don't have much else to do while the wife watches Eastenders of an evening.
6. Hi My 14 year old son was stopped in TKMaxx and accused of shoplifting. He hadn't left the store but was stopped near the tills. Taken to the back and made to confess and sign a banning order. I was called and advised by security that they would give him the benefit of the doubt and let him go. No Police etc called. Received letter attached which i am currently writing a response too. I am going to deny all liability etc and ask that they forgo the usual barrage of letter and go straight to court. I am not paying a penny and would love to take this further etc. Is the letter attached the standard letter for a 14 year old , i have read other post which refer to a paragraph about showing the letter to a parent etc. My son got this letter before we did and i found it in his room. Although he is 14 he is only 9 to 10 developmentally and has one or two issues. Although he doesn't understand the letter he does understand parts and it has affected him greatly. He struggles with suicidal thought and depression, this is just the sort of thing that could push him over the edge. Its just a shame that this was one of only a handful of occasions where he has been let out with friends and not with us. All replies greatly received. Mark
