Hi
I hope someone can help with an answer, i have tried to look through the many threads on here to find an answer but nothing seems to match my query.
I have made a PPI reclaim to Barclay's for PPI applied to a loan that i took out over 6 years ago, I received a reply from Barclay's that stated they would not look at the claim due to the age of the loan and on the date the PPI was taken out they were not regulated and that i also cannot take my compliant to the FOS. Unfortunately I have lost the letter so I don't have the exact wording that they used.
Now I have heard of successful claims from people whose loans were taken out in the 90's and mine was in 2000 or 2001.
Is it correct that I cannot make a claim or take it to the FOS? Barclay's found my account and details of the loan and my complaint was that PPI was put on my loan as compulsory and not given to me as an option.
Any help would be appreciated.
