  3. Hi I hope someone can help with an answer, i have tried to look through the many threads on here to find an answer but nothing seems to match my query. I have made a PPI reclaim to Barclay's for PPI applied to a loan that i took out over 6 years ago, I received a reply from Barclay's that stated they would not look at the claim due to the age of the loan and on the date the PPI was taken out they were not regulated and that i also cannot take my compliant to the FOS. Unfortunately I have lost the letter so I don't have the exact wording that they used. Now I have heard of successful claims from people whose loans were taken out in the 90's and mine was in 2000 or 2001. Is it correct that I cannot make a claim or take it to the FOS? Barclay's found my account and details of the loan and my complaint was that PPI was put on my loan as compulsory and not given to me as an option. Any help would be appreciated. Joanne
  4. Took your advice thanks, £10 debited from my account after speaking to a customer relations manager who took pride in stating they were going to charge the £10 even though they dont always. Seen as thought i asking for money back. Question - When we file the court claim can we add the £10 DPA cost in???
  5. Branch Manager called very quick. Sending out forms which he states needs completing to get the details. Interestingly he states my charges were computer generated as they were standard over the overdraft limit charges, bounced checks etc can have manual intervention. So not expecting much on the DPA request.
  6. Preliminary letter sent to HSBC for £600 of charges. Called contact centre for address to send Data Protection Act request to response was "never heard of that" after being on hold a long time branch is due to call me back. Will use online banking to send in copy aswell Will keep you posted!!
