  10. Hi all, I have had a mattress from Next for just under three years, we noticed a considerable dip in the mattress about six months after purchasing and contacted them, they never got back to us and after periods of time in hospital recently contacted them again. The mattress has never fit the bed, also a Next item. However an inspector came and told me the 2.5 inch dip was normal for a mattress is this age. Next told me that because the mattress had a stain this has caused the dip and was not a manufacturing fault. They said the stain has caused the pillowtop (which was less than 0.5cm), to decompress and had caused the 2.5" dip I asked them about staining on a mattress which has had the usual human activity on it and stated that the stain was actually nowhere near the dip. They now want to send another inspector out. Is this right? i feel they are just going to try and cover up what they originally said? Anyone got any advice please? C x
  11. I went into the EE store today as my iPhone does not connect to the internet, the battery is terrible, the home button doesn't work and a few other issues. The guy i saw was so rude he said that they didn't have to do anything and it was down to apple. I said my contract is with EE not apple and he kept banging on about me paying for a service and the phone is apples. Whilst this maybe true he said i only had a year to sort out my phone. I told him the eu regulations were two years and it states this on apples website also. He got really grumpy with me and literally frog marched me out of the shop. Whilst i don't like dealing with people like him, what do i do. i have a phone that nearly works and i am paying for extra data allowance because it is constantly searching and i have in contract until april next year. I also told him about the sales of goods act and he said they weren't allowed to help me because the phone was more than 14 days old. Does anyone have an email address where i can complain to and back this up with some sort of strength?
  12. Hi bank fodder, when you say sue do you mean through the small claims court or through the ombudsman? x
  13. I made a claim for accidental damage of some items in my bedroom. Lady came around took pictures, got some to come and clean items which they couldnt, replaced two carpets all within a short space of time. Then we seemed to hit a stumbling block. She asked for quotes for replacement items, i went on one website and got quotes for like for like items. She then came back to me saying there were inaccuracies in her information because originally i had stated the items were from different suppliers. I spoke to her and told her i only went to one suppliers because it was easier. She didnt ask for quotes from different manufacturers. Then she started going on about proof of ownership. As i had no receipts for items as they are fairly old and out of warranty. She queried my duvet because it was made from duck down and not a standard issue duvet. Which i was not very impressed about. Every email seems to take over a week to reply to and then i have to push for it, this claim was made on the 5th march and is still not settled. She asked for photos of the duvet labels to verify the quality. She then started harping on about proof of ownership?? The duvet is on my bed. i managed to find a delivery note for the duvet from john lewis and emailed that to her. She has now sent a letter stating that they have been in contact with john lewis and that the information on the delivery note is incorrect the number does not match the name or address on the note? What id like to know is what are the time frames for this sort of thing? She seems very unprofessional with her assuming i dont own stuff in my house and that i should only have basic bedding etc. She did give me a settlement figure two weeks ago which included a sale item and the wrong size bed. Which i queried and she hasnt got back to me. Could anyone tell me the timeframe for this sort of claim and are they allowed to call up and query a purchase without my prior consent? surely the company shouldnt be giving out any information? Thanks
  14. My husband just sat on my daughters bed to read her a bedtime story and the bottom of the bed collapsed, this is one of two we bought as bunks and have recently separated, the side of the bed has completely split! I'm now concerned that the other may do the same. Obviously I shall call them first thing but am I entitled to a refund due to it being unsafe? It's nearly a year old x
  15. Thanks for the replies, what does the surrendering license mean? x
