Sent A&L a letter on 8/01 to basically remind them that i'm serious and the timescales they have to meet my demands. A fob off letter will not wash here. Looking forward to their next letter. Follow my claim with Barclays here http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/barclays-bank/46690-junklunacy-barclays.html

I've received a fob off letter from A&L. They comment on OFT comments on late payment charges and that they were actually referring to late payment fees for credit card payments which are distinct from bank charges on current accounts bla bla bla. So another letter is on the way to A&L setting timescales for my demands etc..etc.. This WILL NOT DETER ME!! Nor should this put off any other people who receive similar letters from their banks. We must NOT let them put us down or detract us from our main objective - getting OUR cash back!!

Hi All, This is my 2nd thread for claiming back charges. My first is junklunacy v Barclays which is currently at MCOL stage and awaiting Barclays defence. With regards my A&L claim I have sent my letter for repayment on 30/12/2006 for a total of £746 excl interest. I will be giving them 14 days before I send them another letter and then a further 14 days. If i don't receive the FULL amount after this time I will be paying MCOL another visit as I have done against Barclays. End date for A&L to pay me in FULL is 27/01/2007.

Barclays acknowledged my claim on 29/12/2006 a day before the deadline of 30/12/2006. MCOL now says defendant has 28 days to defend from date claim was served which was 11/12/2006. So i guess if I don't receive a defence by 8/01/2007 i should start my judgement? Of course knowing Barclays I'll receive a defence nearer the time etc which i will approach in the same manner throughout this process.

Welshman v Barclays **WON**
junklunacy replied to Welshman's topic in Barclays, BCard and Woolwich successes
Welshman I've been following your case with interest. Barclays have until tomorrow 24/11 to respond to my letter of repayment. I've given them a total of 21 days before I file my claim on MCOL which I feel is more than enough time. My case is junklunacy v Barclays if anyone is interested in following. -
Barclays have until tomorrow 24/11 to acknowledge my letter for full repayment of charges with interest. Until now after 14 days and another 7days (including tomorrow) failed to repsond to my letter. What's the chances I receive a letter tomorrow. Either way if it's not full compensation I'll be straight on the MCOL website on Saturday morning.

OK after reading through the moneysavingexpert website (getting tough) I'm going to send a letter tomorrow to Barlcays reminding them the 14 days is up on 17/11 and i want my money giving them another 7 days to respond before I put my claim through the small claims court. I've also added interest to my claim! Lets see if this gets them stirred!

They have until 17/11 before i send them another giving them a further 14 days (i feel this demonstrates my patience with them!!). Will keep you all posted of further developments. I will also start another blog for my challenge with Alliance & Leciester currently waiting for statements. Junklunacy

Contract Date and Subject Access Request letter for list of charges
junklunacy replied to zmf's topic in NatWest Bank
Hi, This is my first post so apologies if there is a specific section for this discussion. I sent of my S.A.R - (Subject Access Request) form 10 days ago and received the below reply from Barclays Bank on Friday with my cheque for £10 attached. What exactly does this mean? Can i request that the info sent is only charges/interest rather then monthly statements which I think they are going to send? They haven't cashed my cheque? This will be time consuming to collate but if i have to I will. If anybody can advise whether this is normal practice or is Barclays Bank being totally unco-operative. Regards V Unhappy Barclays Bank customer (although not for much longer )
