  1. Hi everyone, didn't think I would be back here again, but here goes.. I have been reading some threads on "arrangement fees", which is what I am getting stung for now..£150 (plus interest) every month !!(once you're in there's no getting out). I wouldn't mind, but they didn't build up slowly each month like some...£150 from day one, you start to wonder if this is personal !!! But, as I have already had one successful claim back from HSBC last year what is the chance of going again?...anyone?
  2. Well everyone, it's good to be back. Just like the good old days !! Now if I could just find that banana boat I fell off...Think I will wait for the test case to resolve and start again, thanks folks. (Yes please Martin could you go ahead and merge them)
  3. Well christmas been and gone and left me "over the limit" for January (fool and his money etc etc). ..and voila ! HSBC now hit me with their £150 bank charges but call it "advised fees"! nice one. Am I the only one and are these charges by another name ?. ..Dont tell me I have to go through all that again!
  4. Well today I started my crusade against my managed loan. got enough to finally pay back the amount but...hang on! Every other lender will give you a reduced figure for an early repayment, but HSBC, they say NO! So I said right, you want a fight.. lets go. Writing to Headoffice to start making a nuisance of myself. Paid back over £2000 in payments and loan reduced by £380. Got to be worth something. Wish me Luck..Anybody else been here?
  5. Thanks Netty, I didnt know wether to laugh, cry or kick the dog. Tommorrow back to the bank, thought I had seen the last of them..
  6. They paid up (though I'm not supposed to tell you that), and today got my bank statement...with another big bank charge !! Applied on the dates whilst I was waiting for the money to arrive. Points for nerve I will give them that ! Guess it's a personal visit to the branch tommorrow with those immortal words..." do you really wanna do this again ?"...
  7. ...THE B*****DS PAID UP AT LAST !!!!... Letter arrived with the offer. Sorry if the language upsets anybody but this has been a campaign of revenge, rather than money, for me. As soon as the money arrives I will take great pleasure in closing the account myself !! Many thanks to CAG for all your help (donation as soon as it clears) And to anybody who reads this, remember, 'They' are not there to help you, or look after your interests, or be your friends, they are there to make as much money out of you as possible... and will get it any way they can!..Keep the faith people, fight for your money back !!
  8. Congratulations !!! Well done..hopefully i'm only a few days behind you.
  9. Rang DG today..They say, ( Ms D'Aubney herself no less !),that someone will ring me back. Hope they do soon, my cars just packed up this morning...B******s !!

  11. Hi..Brilliant !! will call them on Monday...Thanks,
  12. Hi Carl ...Looks like we are at the same point, on the same day. Got my transfer today. There is some where amongst this lot, a link, on how to fill in the AQ and it looks quite simple to do. Would like to know about the "hanging on" question though if you get one....Good Luck !!
  13. Hi There...Received my "notice of transfer" today. However, it states that I have until the 24 jan to return my AQ, my original "Times up boys" date I worked out to be the 16th (Acknowledged 20/12/06..+28 days =16/01). Does this mean they have gained another 8 days, or are my calcs wrong ?
  14. Hi there... MCOL issued December, acknowledged last week, so am today sending out copies of charges as you suggested. The system works if you just follow the step by step guides, all you seem to need is the nerve to go through with it and keep your eye on the end figure, that just seems to get bigger the more "they" keep dithering around. After 6 years of putting up with their **** what more can they do to me...Get your chequebook out mr HSBC
  15. Hi there..On the nice letter from Mr Langdale he says "if we do not receive your signed acceptance within 10 working days, we will take it that you have declined our offer"... Damn right , but do I still have to reply seperately?
  16. HI folks..looking for a bit of guidance here. done the letters ( big, BIG thanks to you guys) , done the calcs(ditto). Done the spreadsheets (even a dumb*** builder like me could use it,ditto to Vamp). but a question..my sums work out that they owe me about £2700, but now that I am at the MCOL stage the total on the HMCS form works out at about £3600, with all the interest and fees. However, Mr HSBC writes to me and says "we dont want to give you £2700, we want to give you £2400 (ish) "..as if I would ! But, do I hold out for the £3600 that the court says or am I being greedy and should take the £2700 from the original calcs?? Does this make sense? any advice welcome..
  17. Hi.. Looks like I'm at the same point that you are. I've put all the figures in and it very cleverly worked it all out, however, it has also showed me the 8%, so I am gonna send the whole thing off anyway, but only claim the amount, without the interest, on the letter. Does that make sense? I dont think it matters if the bank sees the added interest figure, they know you are not claiming that amount by reading the letter. Anyone know if I have got it wrong ?? ps Many thanks to Vamp for the spreadsheets, I think we would all be lost if we didn't have them !!
  18. Been putting up with HSBC's bank charges month after month for years and never been able to get out of the continuing spiral. Thanks to you folks my first letter went in the post last week, and I dont care what it costs mein the end.."Bring it on boys !!" I just wish i could see my branch managers smug face when he writes that cheque (I know it wont be him that writes it, but I can dream can't I !!)
  19. Glad someone else has had one of these "managed loans" thought it was just me. HSBC "introduced" me to this after it took away my overdraft & cc. I was so shocked at the time I just said ok, and I am paying dearly for it eversince !! After 3 years of paying £60 per month the loan has gone down a wopping £240 !!! (someone pass me a razor blade), Any advice out there. The only saving grace is my claim for bank charges going back 6 years has just begun and i am going to relish every minute of it !
  20. Hi Dave, It looks like you had a new connection, with a new contract, rather than an upgrade. This was probably done via a third party dealer, if this is so, which is usually the case, then Orange would not have been aware that you wanted an upgrade. The third party dealers get commision on new contracts and presumably you have a new phone number , as you can only keep an old one by upgrading. To do an upgrade third party dealers have to pay (or buy from..!)Orange the remainder of the cost of your line rental for the length of time remaining on your 12 month contract ( which none of them want to do) In brief go back to the company that started your new contract they are the ones who will have to sort it out, probably not Orange. Hope this helps. BEWARE of third party phone dealers !!
