  1. Hi all I found this site and after some careful reading decided to chase my bank for the charges. Being a bit of a trusting (and lazy) person, I phoned and asked for the last 6 years statements to be sent, no problem they said they will be with you in the next 10 days or so.....this was back in mid to late March. The most recent 2 years arrived, I called about the missing ones and was told they would take longer as they were in archive. They didn't arrive!! After 8-10 calls and a huge amount of frustration at being lied to and deceived over timescales and availability of statements. I called them again yesterday to register my disgust and to ask them once again to pull the finger out. They said again that the statements would be with me in the next 10 - 14 days. I am afraid I got just a wee bit cross and pointed out that I had been asking for these for the last 3 1/2 months and that either they were deliberately witholding the statements or they were grossly incompetent, they could choose but I still wanted my statements. Then something clicked and I remembered one of the quiet disclaimers about telephone calls being recorded for training purposes. I told the call centre person that under the terms of the Data Protection Act I wanted a transcript of all of the calls that I had made to the bank. Almost immediately I was asked if I would mind holding, after a short wait I was told that a manager, currently in a meeting, would call me back when they were free. Of course this didn't happen, but......absolutely everything I had been asking for arrived this morning postmarked yesterday...... what a remarkable coincidence.
  2. Hi this is my first post, so many apologies if this is a daft question already covered elsewhere. I am just wondering if my account is in Scotland (BoS) but I live in England........do I proceed any differently? Thanks
