  1. :-D I won, i won. I've just checked the account online and I've been paid today, but not my £50 court fee. I pressume that will come along later. Mnay thanks to the NW for such an interesting ride. Thanks especially to Michael for your advice and everyone else who has contributed to this site. Off to have a bottle of wine on NW.:grin: I hope all of you keep faith out there and keep going. J
  2. Can anyone tell me if I need to prepare abundle. My claim was acknowledged on the 5th May and I have still not heard anything. How long would I have to put a defence together? The pressure seems to be building up now and nothing will happen over the bank holiday..........aghhhhhhhhhh!!
  3. Tiatia, I'm still a newbie, but it took several days for the acknowledgement to come through the post, even though it had appeared online several days before. Just hold out. Once it arrives, then send off your copy of your charges to the solicitors....probably Eversheds. Their address will be on the second page. I hope this helps. Good luck. I'm still waiting, my was acknowledged on the 5th May. I'm a bit worried that they may put in a defence. J
  4. Cheers Michael, What would I do without you? J
  5. Can anyone tell me when I am supposed to send the spreadsheet off to Nationwide. My MCOL has been acknowledged. Do I receive anything in the post as the 'getting the MCOL right' said the solicitors address will be on page 2. Is this in an electronic format or a hard copy? Any advice would be much appreciated.
  6. Thanks Michael. Sent letter to court along with charges [x2]. What doe the question on MCOL mean 'Do you wish to enter Judgment by Default or by Admission?' I'm lost. J
  7. Hi, I've just logged my claim using MCOL. What do I have to do now? I appreciate the claim will not go through until tomorrow. Do I have to send anything off? Kind regards J
  8. Feakyleaky, Many thanks, what a fantastic thread this one is. Unfortunately, it looks as though I will have to wait and see what others do as they look as though they haven't got the statements to date. Damn shame. Once again, many thanks.
  9. Hi All, I am currently doing a claim agaist HSBC, however, my biggest claim would be against HSBC or the Midland Bank as was. My only concern is that I closed my account about 6 years ago as I then started to earn some money. I have been reading that you can go back through the 6 year barrier. How do you start getting a list of my charges? As far as I can see it the letter only allows you to abtain info from within the last 6 years. Do I give HSBC £10 and ask for all my statements from say 1997 onwards through to the date of closure. I am unsure how this works. I hope someone can help.
  10. Cheers Milktrayman, Is it not working because it is the weekend or is that me being thick? Thanks for your advice. With regards to the HSBC claim, do you know if you can get all the really old statements from say 10 years ago forthe price of £10?
  11. I'm back and I'm up and running, but MCOL isn't working for me today. I will have another go tomorrow if I have time. I've now read that I can go back 6 years. That means I will have to have a go at HSBC, an account that I closed about 6 years ago, but I think there may be alot more money to be had there! I'll have a go.
  12. Hi all, I'm going away on holiday and due to the 7 day extension I have given NW, it takes me away from my PC. I have already prepared my MCOL, should I do it all from abroad or wait until my return? Any suggestions would be good.
  13. Hi all, another couple of days have gone by and I sent off a revised LBA giving a 7 day deadline, problem is off on holiday then. Anyone any ideas? I've prepared the MCOL, so I suppose I could do it from Spain with a San Miguel in one hand and press the button in the other and say 'Muchas Gracias NW' and then retire to the beach and contemplate on spending the rewards when they come through.
  14. Thank you Milktrayman, will do . Out in the post tomorrow.
  15. Michael, Many thanks, this is an excellent guide. your help will be appreciated by all. J
  16. Oh joy............not really, I've still got to wait another 5 days before I take them to court. I wish the days would go faster so that I can get it over and done with, but we're all in the same boat. I'll let you all know what is happening............back to bed now to kill some more time. J
  17. Rightfullymine, Thanks for the advice. I think I will stick with what I have already sent out and WHEN i have to got to court I will isse a slightly amended spreadsheet, which will be more accurate and NW could not then trick me. I think you8r right, keeep with simple maths. I'm not bothered about a few quid here and there, just the bulk will do. J
  18. Nice one, I think that NW are a bit more switched on as they want to be taken to court all the time. J
  19. Thanks Rightfully mine. I think I have already sent off the equivalent of the LBA as I have now sent them two spreadsheets. i think my next step is court - the bit I'm not looking forward to. i think i have got myself a little bit confused with what I can claim interms of overdraft interest, due to the lawful/unlawful bit. I have claimed all. should I resend the LBA with my revised figures where I have removed any mention of interest? This would not take me long to do. Will I have to start from fresh? I appreciate your support. J
  20. Hi all, This is my first posting on here. I've been using the templates from the moneysavingexpert webiste and have just sent off my second letter as I gather I had the bog standard no you can't have your money back letter. I've given them another 14 days. Should I be doing any extra work now? thanks for any expected advice. J
  21. Hi All, This is my first post and I've just joined. I'm up against the Nationwide BS. I've opened an account with the Alliance and Leicester and waiting to transfer all details over to them. Once I've done that I will send off my prelim letter and a breakdown of the costs. I have calculated the actual charges but not the interest charges. Is there an easy way of doing this? My actual charges only total c£330. Should I bother? I hope someone can help
