  6. Thank you both for your information. I have decided to accept their offer rather than continue and open a small claims case. Regards, Stephen
  7. Hi, I have been using HSBC Invest Direct for over a year and mid 2009 they made a mistake which showed over £12,000 in my account for 21 days before they finally removed this from my account. I proceeded to complain to HSBC Invest Direct via telephone conversations, requesting that the amount was to be transferred back into my account because they hadn't taken the sum soon enough. After lots of phone calls later they've offered me £250 as a settlement figure. I don't want to accept this offer because I believe I'm entitled to the £12,000 as they've offered me a settlement figure, rather than challenging me. Could somebody with some more knowledge on this sort of situation please explain where I stand and what action I could take? Stephen,
  8. I have received a letter today from Northampton County Court but I'm not sure what it means. At first it looked like HSBC were defending but there's nothing stated about a date or location for the hearing. It states on the front page: "IT IS ORDERED THAT:- 1) Following the filing of a defence or holding defence the claim shall be stayed pending judgment in the Office Fair Trading test case. 2) Liberty to apply with an explanation." Does this mean what's mentioned above - that the case is on hold? Regards,
  9. What are the predicted outcomes of this case? Can that even be predicted at this point?
  10. Do you have a link to a website that will explain the on-hold business a lot more?
  11. Is there any action I could take at the moment or am I waiting for the egg timer to strike 0?
  12. This is my first post for over a year I'm claiming for £750 for the past 12 months of charges. I could get a copy of the letter hosted if need be? Regards,
  13. I had a reply today from HSBCs solicitors stating that they "are applying to the court for an order to stay your action until resolution of the banks proceedings with the OFT". Could somebody explain this further to me please.
  14. I work as a systems programmer for an IT company and a couple of days ago a friend who works in a different department of the company said he overheard my manager and his manager discussing the company getting rid of somebody from my department. I don't much reason to believe this would be me, but I would like some defense if I'm the one who doesn't fit into the companies plan. I have worked for the company for 1 year and 5 months. I first started working there under another department and then moved to my current department. I was in the first department for 10 months and then moved department but my contract was changed to reflect my new job title untill 6 months after being in the department, and when it was it was changed to 'trainee'. My job title is still prefixed with 'trainee'. My question being, with the following information above, would it be lawful for the company to simply 'let me go' due to my job title being prefixed with 'trainee'? Although I have been with the company as long as I have. Or would I either have to be made redundant or fired from the company for good reason? Regards,
  15. I have filled out the survey. Now the doubt has been removed from friends on this I will help them sort this out. I will make sure you receive a donation from them if they proceed and are victorious and you will receive a donation from me shortly. Thanx for your help, Stephen.
  16. Are we the first cases that have been defended by HSBC?
  17. Today I received this letter from Moneyclaim. http://stesbox.co.uk/hsbc1.jpg Is this a copy of what was sent to HSBC and not a form I have to take action from? Thanx in advance,
  18. I burned all my old letters earlier and I've just now realised I have burned my Moneyclaim slip along with them. Is the going to affect anything?

    Moneyclaim

Filed a claim on Friday with still no confirmation from Moneyclaim. I have logged into my account and saw the claim is active. Is this usual? Am I just awaiting HSBC to respond to Moneyclaim?
  20. I have started my claim today online with MoneyClaim. Do I receive notification of what happens from here from MoneyClaim? Am I appointed a court date from them and who will be the judge?
  21. My mistake. I can see all of my statements by using the "My Statements" link.
  22. For any date beyond 19th December 2005. The privilage of seeing your statements for free from any date has been taken. The bank must think it was being abused.
