  2. just about to post my CCA request now. Couple of questions i) am i right in not signing the CCA request letter ? ii) The £1.00 fee. Is it ok to send a cheque (obviously i will have to sign it) or a postal order ? Thanks in advance
  3. Will get these off tomorrow. Rory, why did you ask how the card was applied for ?
  4. thanks. Will get it off tomorrow and let you know how i get on
  5. The card was applied for at the branch. I opened an HSBC bank account at the same time. Thinking on, I might have defaulted on paying that as well. I am now thinking what the amount I owe is for ? is it possible that 2 debts have been merged ? Will the CCA show what the debt is for ? Thanks
  6. Would I have a CCA for this account, as it was just a bank account overdraft that got out of hand. If I remember rightly, I was signing cheques and backing them up with a cheque guarantee card, knowing there was no money in the account
  7. Hi rory Would barclays issue me with a S.A.R as the account was with them over 6 years ago ? Thanks
  8. thanks again for you reply the debt is a HSBC Credit card. I last made a payment about 3.5 years ago and the debt is about £2000. hopes this helps Thanks
  9. Nice One ! Will sort it and get it off tomorrow keep you posted as to what is going on
  10. I have recieved a letter form S R J Recoveries acting on behalf of HSBC. The letter Says in Bold Print across it : NOTICE OF ISSUE OF LITIGATION PROCEEDINGS It goes on to say...you have failed to make arrangements for payment and it is our clients view to recover the sums through your local court. At the end of the letter, it goes on to say. Even at this late stage we can help and come to an agreement to fit your budget. Any advice on what to do would be greatly appreciated Thanks
  11. Hi All hope someone can help. I went overdrawn on a barclays account over 10 years ago. I got letters for a couple of years after this but just ignored them. I heard nothing up until 5 years ago. i then contacted Thames Valley credit and arranged a monthly payment. This monthly payment was fine for about 12 months, I paid regular. I then moved from that address (split up with g/f) and ran into a bit of financial difficulty and didn't make the monthly payments. My ex g/f then gave TVC my new address. I recieved a few letters off them but again just ignored them. I have now moved address and want to sort out my finances. The latest letter i have is a formal demand for the outstanding amount of roughly £1,300. The letter is from buchanan clark + wells ( i presume acting on behalf of TCV) The letter goes on to say TVC have informed BCW that they are unaware of any legimate reason for non-payment and won't hesitate to commence legal proceedings. It also says I should contact them using a 24 hour payment line immediately. What am I best doing first ? Am I right in thinking sending a letter asking for my CCA ? Thanks
  12. Thanks again I thought about obtaining a credit report so i would know what stage each debt was at. How do i go about this. Also if i request a report to be delivered to my present address, would DCA's be able to get this information from the credit report agencies ? Cheers
  13. Thanks for your quick reply. All these letters i have been recieving have been at my mothers house. I no longer live there and have been living somewhere else for over 18 months. Would I be wise to make all correspondence with the DCA's from my mothers address. I have never recieved anything from any DCA's at my present address and am not on the electoral register at my present address. Cheers
  14. Hi What a great forum ! Hope someone can help. I have just recieved a phone call from my mother saying that i have got a couple of letters from debt collecting agencies to her address ( i lived there for a short while) one is for a HSBC credit card that was passed over to a DCA about 3 years ago. Another is from a HSBC loan passed to a DCA about 2 years ago and the final one is from A barclays overdraft, which the last i hrard from was well over 5 years ago. I admit defaulting on these agreements and am willing to now sort them out. I have ignored letters from them in the past but according to mum one of these letters today, the HSBC CC is talking about some kind of warrant. Any advice please ?
