Nope, just save the excel file, open it on your PC, and replace all the fields with your own info, like how much and when you were charged. It will do all the magical sums for you. No need to send photocopies of all your statements too as far as I know
-
I did a witness statement which I found a template for on here. I sent one to the county court and one to their legal team at Churchill Place, for the attention of the person named on the court documents. It's worth forking out a little extra and sending them recorded too
-
To be honest I'd just number them the way it's descibed on the FAQs on this site, might take a little more time but you know it will be right
-
I think if you leave it until within 14 days they will settle for the full amount as they don't want to go to court. Any earlier than that (esp if they've not had a court bundle from you yet) I guess they are hoping you'll drop off... Glad you got through though
-
I included all my letters to them, and all the letters I had received, in chronological order, including their offer and my letter saying no thank you.
-
Glad you got through - I'm pretty sure you'll have had good news
-
I ticked no to that bit as I wasnt sending a fee at that stage. The bank will pay you back the £120 when they settle. As for G) I just put that it will take no longer than 1 hour.

Was that Krysta you were ringing? She answered both times I called yesterday, but I had trouble gettting past the voicemail of the person handling my claim. Try emailing Krysta at krysta.campbell@barclays.com Tell her your court date, your claim number, you'd like to discuss settlement - who is handling your claim? If you can't get thru on THEIR phone all their emails seem to be firstname.lastname@barclays.com

Just a little PS, today I asked Barclays what they wanted to do about the charges they have levied on my account since I started the reclaiming process last year and they agreed to pay them all now to save time! I said I was about to start a second claim... I'm in shock!
-
How did you get on Jimmy?
-
I agree, and thank you. The amount is actually slightly more than I had asked for, I assumed they have calculated the interest differently? I'm definitely not writing to the court until the money is in my account, even though B'clays have asked for a copy of the letter to the court with the signed settlement letter from me. I wish that like you I could withdraw the money from my account, unfortunately in my case it's paying off half of my overdraft
-
Just spoke to the person handling my claim. She said the full amount plus court fee would be in my account by tomorrow lunchtime. Not counting my chickens yet until it's there but my donation to ths website will be on it's way and THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU to everyone who offered me advice and answered my questions. YAY!
-
Ahhh, you are all STARS! I was wondering who to call, Krysta it is. Thanks Dar3n and oneofakind

Hey, thank you for the speedy response Mum Thanks for the advice, I'll let you know what happens!

Pers - I have used the account a couple of times, I think they want my salary to go into it though, which is fair enough. The fee is for 'underfunding'. I just thought as all the advice pretty much starts off with 'open an account somewhere else in case yours gets closed' it's worth taking into account that this may happen. As I am two grand overdrawn with B'clays I can't just pay my salary into another account to keep them happy - bit of a double edged sword really :/
-
Hehe, well.. I like to be polite about these things So I will ring them on Monday... what exactly am I saying to them? And am I right in thinking I can ask the to pay the £120 court fee I had to pay too? Thanks for the help, guys, it is really appreciated

I wonder if anyone could advise me please? My court date is 1 May, and I sent my court bundles and witness statements to the County Court and to Barclays Litigation Dept 14 days prior to the court date, as the court requested. I have not however received anything from Barclays - should I not have received their bundle within the same timeframe? As I haven't - should I contact the court? Thanks in advance to anyone who takes the time to respond My thread

Hi there Just thought I'd flag something up here, not sure if this has been mentioned before. When I started my claim against Barclays ages ago I opened a parachute account with A&L, just in case Barclays closed my account. However, things have dragged on a lot longer than I thought and now A&L have charged me a fiver for not using the account!! Just something to bear in mind. I guess as the banks are dragging things out for so long this could happen to a lot of people?

Firecracker's claim against Barclays bank charges
Firecracker replied to Firecracker's topic in Barclays Bank
I'll continue to post here in the hope that I may get some advice... A&L have now charged me a fiver for having an inactive account. I thought perhaps this needs to be flagged up. If Barclays don't send me their witness statements and other evidence within the 14 days should I contact the court? -
Well, I've incurred more charges since I started my claim, and I fully intend to start a second claim once this first one is dealt with. I don't see why you can't start another claim for the earlier charges, hopefully one of the mods will be able to clarify this for you

Hey JT, my court date is the same as yours, and I finished my court bundles today too Fingers crossed for us both hey? Just wish I could afford to spend the money on a holiday, mine will just get soaked straight into the overdraft.

Firecracker's claim against Barclays bank charges
Firecracker replied to Firecracker's topic in Barclays Bank
I actually got my court bundles in the post today *phew* The whole thing had looked really daunting but when I actually sat down properly and read stuff then it all made sense. One comment / question... when I started all of this process I took the advice about setting up another current account (I set one up with A&L) but now this process has dragged on so long they are getting a little angsty about me having an account with them and not paying my salary into it. I don't know what to do... anyone any advice? Thanks -
Hi Jimmy We're still at the same stage, I got the same notification last Friday. I promise not to worry about mine if you don't worry about yours OK?

Firecracker's claim against Barclays bank charges

I've had a double whammy today. In the post an 'Acknowledgment of Claim', which says An acknowledgment of Service of your claim has been filed today (18 Dec), a copy of which is attached. The defendant now has 28 days from the date of service of the claim form to file a defence. This is standard right? Do I need to do anything at this stage or just wait it out? Also, the b'stards have charged me £30 today for going over my overdraft, the first time I've done that since I stated the claim (I've been so careful!!). They charged me the same day I got paid as well. Merry Christmas to you too Barclays
