  1. i spoke to somebody on the phone who had to ask a manager, all i wanted to know was what address to send the data protection letter to with my £10 postal order thats when she told me that it would not apply to credit cards, thanks for quick response x:)
  2. Can anyone advise me. I have requested a copy of my statements today from Halifax visa. They have informed me that I cannot request the usual £10 request as this only applies to bank accounts and not cc. They inform me that in order to receive my statements I need to pay them £5 for the first four, then £5 each thereafter unto a maximun of £150. Is this correct or just another load of rubbish in an attempted to prevent me from exercising my rights.
  3. my halifax platinum card is currently 5498 on a 5000 limit they keep puting charges on for overlimit this is a vicious cycle can i claim the interest charges back now or not, have read hundreds of threads no clear answers found i ve got spinny head help
  4. thanks for the advice will do that today keep you posted
  5. i sent my first letter recorded delivery on the 19th of september, claiming £392 recieved 1st offer of £160 today, sent the usual thanks but no thanks, do i jump straight to mcol or do i need to send lba? did not expect offer so soon nice though shows capital 1 keen not to waste profits on court fees and interest charges.
  6. hi i appealed against their request to pay back overpayment and won £3500 in total it turns out that the computer had miss read my forms (which had been filled in correctly) it had down that me and hubby were working 74 hours a week between us and earning no wage!!! incidently 03/04 was the year of massive overpayments and i know of several people who won on appeal go for it, good luck, i don't know where you stand on claiming the charges that incurred as a result of them stopping your money go for the bank on that 1!!!
  7. congratulations fair play to that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  8. cap 1 told me there were 8 months worth on screen which gave me a head start, then my husband phoned and got a lovely lady who looked into both our files from the opening of the account right up to current, she called back and told us every single charge we had ever had thankyou very much cap 1 this means i will not have to wait 2 weeks for info so i can send you first letter today ha de ha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  9. when i called they only had 8 months showing on screen, my husband phoned got a lovely lady who called us back with all our charges since account was opened!!! thanks cap 1 that just saved me waiting 2 weeks means i can send you 1st letter today ha de ha!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  10. we were overpayed £3500.00 in the same period over the space of 4 months, we had filled in the forms correctly and sent in all the appropriate documents with the claim pack, i received a letter saying £2000 ish had been paid into our acc and that a further payment of £764 would be paid in four wekly well my overdraft ate most of that! i contacted them and said as lovely as all this money is was it correct? i was told the computer had miss read my forms and had put the joint claim in as 74 hours a week between us but that we did not get a wage! i would love to have been in the position to have done all that supposed voluntary work i certainly would not be claiming tax credits if that were the caes , anyway the woman assured me that she would make notes on the screen a re calculuate our claim, then four weeks later the £764 went in again i contacted them and went through the whole story again! this lady however told me i would need to put it in writing, i did this heard nothing again £764 went in the next month. when it came to paying the money back i wrote a huge long appeals letter and a few weeks later got a reply they had wiped my slate clean as it was entirely there fault!!!! don't give up appeal to my knowledge this was the year for mammoth overpayments and hundredsof people have won through appeal good luck
  11. we bought our kitchen 4 years ago and got the finance the trouble is we would have paid it off a few months ago instead of still having a balance of £384.14 had they not sent us a letter every month for arrears at £15.00 a go!!!!!!!! can i try to get these charges back or has anyone else had any success with this kind of thing?
  12. been reading all the forums for a couple of days i think what this site is doing is fantastic its about time we showed the banks we will not be put up with this exstortionet (spelling never my strong point) amount of money the NatWest ants steel to feed the fat cats , its time we put them on a diet!!!!! i am waiting for statements to arrive but i have managed to go online and work out my charges for a fairly new joint account we opened in april fees totalling £722 its a snowball efect once you have had a couple of bounced dds making up the charges before you can get back into credit can be quite trying sometimes we had £308 worth of charges in a week and it amazes me how NatWest gets away with saying the charge covers admin as to my knowledge they send you one letter on the first you incur a charge after that you find out the hard when your acc goes belly up so they can not even try to justify them on the grounds they send out letters each time we only found out the knock on effect of missing the first dd had mucked up our entire month budget in our acc its crazy.
  13. please let me know what response you get with this letter, i think i will have the same problem as i have a buisness acc i also use my name then t/a i did read somewhere else on the forum that this can be classed as a current account as i trade with a shop name and a buisness name and all my cards cheque book etc has my details on them as well as buisness name!!!!!!!!!! if anyone can verify this it would be great thanks and good luck with its time to put the fat cats on a diet lol!!!!!!!!!!!!
