  1. Hi K0r54, I am at that stage too and they I also received a reply before the 14 days, but I am just going straight to the LBA letter. It is clear what their stance is and so you should proceed to the next stage. I am just amending the LBA letter as they did reply, and would suggest that you also do that. Good luck with your claim.
  2. No probs cloudbuster. Best of luck with your claim. Mine is getting sent today!! Wizzer
  3. Cloudbuster I am also completing my spreadsheets to send off my initial request and I have just included all charges on my charges sheet for each month. I'm not sure if I can be bothered to try and work out the interest on my overdrafts, so I have entered the simple spreadsheet version, which calculates the statutory 8% interest for you as well. Ultimately, it depends on whether you want to object to that interest compounded or take the statutory amount and "be happy with that". I think you will find that the charges taken on your statement are those on the previous months charges schedule. Try to cross reference them. Can you confirm if we ask for the initial amount for the charges first and the 8% interest is included in the court claim. Or do we ask for all charges plus interest at outset? Hope I have helped in some way and Good Luck. Wizzer
  4. Rather than go bankrupt, it is worth looking at the IVA as an alternative option. They assess your earnings and work out what you can afford to pay to your debts and review it every year. You do that for 5 years then any outstanding dbts are written off. It shows you want to pay the debt and helps get you back on your feet. although I am told they are quite tough with expenditure, it would save the hassle of dealing with. You would need to get proper advice from someone maybe through Debtline or something else government backed though. That said I hope that you get a result from Welcome through negotiation on the PPi and the OBSCENe charges that are made. If it's a personal loan, good chance many of those charges are claimable! As I'm new to this, someone else may be able to give you other ideas, although if things are that tough at the mo, i would get proper advice! GOOD LUCK!!
  5. Another quick thought. With the increase recently in identity theft, It might be worth checking with credit ref agencies to make sure there is nothing untoward showing on your files. Not that I want to worry you, but, you can never be sure of anything nowadays.
  6. I had a call from them and numerous letters chasing an unpaid gas bill from another property I use to live in. They will know if you live there as they get the info off other utility providers to trace you. Can't answer what they want unless they have been dealing with an existing debt that you are dealing with. In which case, I think they should pass back the debt until the dispute has been settled. Sorry not specifically what you need to know, but hopefully useful for future reference!
  7. Hello everyone. What a site this is! Am telling everyone to check it out! I am currently trying to get charges back from Nationwide, but I have a few queries which will determine how I proceed. I have 2 a/c's with N'wide and charges before any interest total just over £2600! 1 is a sole a/c and the other is a joint account with my wife. Is it best to request the whole lot in one go or should I be doing this as 2 claims? 1 for each account. My sole account is now unused and is o/d by approx £350, mostly charges caused by their incompetence, not mine. They have since sent a letter requesting I pay these back or they will default me, which I think is not allowed under the banking code, as I have disputed the fees caused by their incompetence already. The o/d was caused by their failure to cancel all dd's and so's at my request. So I am waiting for a reply to my query, which as yet I have not received. Am I right?? Is this illegal?? And this is before I send my prelim letter asking for the unfair charges!!! Any advice on this would be greatfully received.
