  1. i used to bank with the abbey. quite happily, even after i got my charges back. anyway, one month i used my overdraught, but lost my job.. wheni got a new one, my statements from abbey were horrific they had gone an authorised a few direct debits.. and charges me interest and charges galore on the account almost doubling the amoun i agreed to overdraught, they requested i gave back my card an cheque book till its paid back, an have now issued a debt collection agency to recover the payment. now i have a little bit of understandin bank "law" but tho, as my agreement was for 300 pound that should be all i pay back. as they authorised there own charges on my account with out my agreement.. or consentbreakin the agreement with me for the over draught, meanin i shouldnt have to pay it back. next steps.. 1, dispute letter with abbey 2, letter co debt agency sayin "ill only deal with abby its in dispute please return the debt back to them" then ill let you kno what becomes of it..
  2. need some more advice now... sent LBA about a week ago now, an have recived a letter back from the abbey refering to my first approach for repayment letter. basically saying that after an investigation they are refusing to pay out as they see nothing wrong with what they have done or charged an i am wrong in my claim as the reports refered to were for credit cards charges not bank accounts charges.. anyway they have given me back 50.00 with out my agreement what response can i issue now ??
  3. i think HSBC have had a change of heart over the past few months.. i recived a letter just a few days after sending my LBA offering me £850 back out of £943.. which im goin to take, as some of my charges were just out side of 6 years.. ** i didnt use dates i went by year, oops ** anyway, one more WIN for the consumer
  4. yea when i said "statement" i mean the spreadsheet of charges, its been corrected to how they want it, and the LBA is going back with it. these stall tactics are just a waist of time, they should just cough up.
  5. thanks nick, ill get on that LBA right away.
