  1. The yorkshire bank have started to offer a maestro debit card (not solo) with their basic 'readycash' bank account. It doesnt come with a cheque guarentee card. I thought it would be a solo card, but a friend got one and it is a full maestro card, just no cheque g symbol on it.
  2. I have just been succesful in claiming back £300 from Nationwide and now really want to get my charges back from Natwest, my main bank and therefore the ones Ive paid most to. Thing is I'm overdrawn by more than I want to claim, if I havnt paid off the overdraft can I actually claim the charges back, as in effect I havnt paid them to the bank? Then again I would be asking them to reduce my balance which is sort of being paid back. Confused. I reckon they owe me about £800-900. any advice would be appreciated!
  3. haha! they refunded all the charges and my court fee!!!!!! They did it last week but I just didnt check my account, £300 plus £30! I just got the 'we're closing your account in 30 days letter', who the hell cares. Just shows if you stand up the them you will win. Thanks guys i love this forum, the advice in this section was vital to me carrying on. I may now take Natwest to court, they owe me over a thousand...
  4. I am thinking of trying to claw back well over £1000 worth of charges from Natwest having just succesfully taken Nationwide to court to get some other charges refunded. Reading this thread however is making me wonder if its worth it. Are there any success stories with Natwest? Corbetts the soliciters they use seem ruthless and determined. I am also worried that they will recall my overdraft and close my account if I antagonise them (Nationwide closed my account, but it didnt bother me as I never use the account). I have more to lose with natwest as they are my main bank and my credit rating isnt good enough to open an equivalent account elsewhere. Any advice would be great guys! Love this forum btw!
  5. Thanks for the words of encouragment. Reading the posts on here is good, seems that they will pay, although it has been a week since they acknowledged my claim. no refund as of today!
  6. I took nationwide to court last week over £420 of bank charges they took from me in a two month period. They refunded £120 before I filled my claim, but refused to pay the rest. they have just acknowledged my claim and have ticked the box saying they intend to file a defense. Getting a bit nervous, even though I know I am justified in trying to get my money back. Any advice on whatI should do, I was surprised at how firmly they stood by their word of not refunding all my charges.
