    Access Denied

His account was overdrawn becuase of the UNLAWFUL CHARGES put on his account following him going overdrawn by 3p. He had made arrangements to pay the overdraft back by standing order from his other account. He thought that as the amount of money Natwest owed him outweighed what was left of his overdraft that he would have funds placed in that account and withdraw the left over money - lookin at it now that was a bad idea. I can't see anything like that similar on the site and I really don't know how he is gonna get his money back!!!! Don't you just hate Banks!!!!!!

    Access Denied

No he did not reach the court stage as they settled in full and final at about the second letter and said the money would go directly into his account and he sent a signed letter back saying this was acceptable. If there is a balance in this account and he were to write a cheque to cash do you think funds would clear or it would go back returned????? The last letter he sent was to the Customer Relations department giving them 7 days to release his account or he would lodge an official complaint with the Financial Ombudsmen - do you think this was the wrong thing to do?
  3. I have recenlty helped a friend recover around £468 following the normal guidelines on the site, however, prior to my friend commencing action and recovering the funds Natwest had frozen his account. Since recovering the funds he attempted to use his cash card which was retained at the ATM and has sent several letters requesting his account to be reinstated and a statement provided to which he has received no response. He knows now his charges have been refunded there is around £200 in his bank account but he cannot access it - what can he do to make them listen to him. Mr Higley has never replied to any of his letters and neither has his branch. HEEEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP!!!!

Got a reply from Mr Higley yesterday and they are gonna pay back the additional charges since I started my claim as long as I understand after this I must accept their charge rates. Believe me I will not let them find one single reason to ever charge me again. VICTORY IS SO SWEET!!!! Anyone out there that has their doubts in doing this needs their head read. The banks are all making profit out of us and we all need to fight back!!!!

Congrats Westy - only just noticed your claim is settled. I understand what you are saying and I think a modified LBA would be adviseable. THink they might close my account this time round so in the process os opening a new one far, far away from Nasty Natwest.

stupid little twerp on the phone wouldn't listen. I think I am gonna send an LBA to the Head Office and ask for the charges back since I started by claim as they total nearly £400 as well - that place will not get another penny out of me if it kills me!!!! Cheque is now cashed and I still haven't sent the discontinuance back so am still within my rights to ask for the rest of my cash back. Grrr hate banks so much!!!

I think I will call them later and say I have just resolved a dispute with you about these kind of charges and don't wish to have to start the whole process again. Please reconsider these charges before I take any further action and see what sort of response I get. REally need to close this account now as I have totally had enough of them.

I don't believe Natwest no sooner am I celebrating my win, yet they are still putting charges on my account. Call me petty but should I call them and tell them I am perfectly willing to go through all this again unless they remove them. £76 may not be a lot considering that I just won but it is the principal now.

I am still smiling now - I really can't believe it. Hang in there they will pay up in the end!!!

I WON!!!!!! Went home the other day and there was my cheque for full amount with the usual letter or how they believe they would win but the legal costs will outweigh the outcome and so for striclty commercial reasons they will settle my claim. What a relief. Now just waiting for the cheque to clear. Donation will follow shortly. I would just like to thank everyone for their help and encouragement and would urge anyone to stick with it as you will get a result in the end!!!!

I guess the courts must be getting clogged up with these things. It is just so frustrating I have come this far and there are still obstacles in my way. Kinda hoping that once Cobbetts received the Court date it might push them into making me another settlement offer or by some way of a miracle just settle it then and there.
