  1. I have found the refusal to confirm everything in line with their security checks really gets them. My defence for not confirmimg my identity is that i dont know who they are and it would be most unwise of me or them to answer such security sensitive questions to complete strangers who cannot confirm who they are until you confirm to them who you are. So it all goes a bit secret squirrel, classified information , they cant divulge who they are or their reason for calling me. They run themselves down into an ever decreasing circle and it then becomes their preroagtive to end the call. They might say, "Is that Mr X?" So I say, "who is calling who? Do you have a list of random telephone numbers there or what? Is it a game where you have to match up telephone numbers with names?" I continue along the lines of, " I think you are one of those fraudulent people who steals from others bank accounts. I have read about you people. No I dont know you and i dont want to tell you my name if you...etc etc" The point is wear them out, ruin their targets and figures, make them feel their job is futile, they are in a dishonest profession, so they do not deserve to prosper.GO AND GET A NICE JOB!
  2. Evidently not one of this forums most interesting cases, as only one other person managed to post in it, cheers 'tezviper'. Nevertheless despite everyone elses non interest, (it only really concerned me and HBOS), HBOS still managed to concede and deposited the disputed amount in my account, today..i kept my cool and kept my cash in the process.
  3. MCOL started on Halifax, they just acknowledged as of 8/1/07. I guess its justa case of going through the motions. OOh i hate January.................
  4. Mmm....Just recieved a reply from Halifax to my LBA with an offer for about 60% of the claim made. So they are basically accepting culpability for their excessive charging, yet blaming me for account mismanagement, what a sin! I stand guilty of account mismanagement, punish me by taking more money! So I am more likely to sin again in the future due to their pilfering of my cash. I have a basic account and no overdraft, just the way I like them, i consider myself to be fairly prudent anyway. Still, I am happy to get this far and elated to know it will go further, red face day for this usury-munching-capitalistic-fat-cat-couldnt-care-less-bankers. Halifax, I never liked 'em, but have been obliged to use 'em, I have other accounts with other banks, call them parachute accounts if you will, let the bleeders know we are the consumers and its our money they have the privilege of processing and we could go to anyone else. So just because it might be sitting in accounts they administer, they do not have the right to make these charges to our accounts for our apparent account mismanagement. Off my chest.....aagh!
  5. Just posting to myself, sent the LBA on December 11th after progressing a bit further with another outstanding issue, Capital One. Made MCOL to Cap One on the same day, which thay defended, should really be another thread I guess..But the Cap One action gave me a boost to chase Halifax. So please ignore my procrastinating yourselves and stick to the timetable!
  6. dont forget to tell them you just need to make sure that the dictaphone is on and that you need to record the call for staff training purposes....;-)
  7. Good news for Halifax, the pain will end sooner for them rather than later. I recieved my statements in twelve separate standard envelopes, outside of the forty days(oops). I highlighted the charges and will add them up using my favorite calculator machine. Its all fairly standard stuff now, follow the timetable and wait for them to eff up. Its better waiting for them to default rather than them telling me they'll take 39 quid from my account in seven days and if it draws me over the limit they'll charge me an extra 28 quid. Now wheres my favourite scientific calculator...
  8. Hi Y'all Halifax seem not to be taking very seriously, i replicate below what they managed to send exactly 40 days after i submittted an SAR from the templates. Yours faithfully Ken Patton Data Protection Consultant Business Risk - Retail ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Now i already have set about dealing with a few other financial institutions who i have had cause to use on a lesser scale, but these numb knuts have been dealing with my money affairs in the main for a few years now and these are the merchant bankers i stand to make the most money reclaimation from. This I know is the 'sod off' letter, what i need is the dox, which they have not furnished me with, so I'll teach them a thing or ten about the information commissioner... Any thoughts sistren and brethren?
  9. Do pardon the biblical references of 40 days and all that, but i need to inject something a little extra than the bare facts .
  10. Hi all!, Halifax 40 days in the desert battling with the devil...or their consicences I guess. Anyway its up tomorrow and i will check the post around midday. I do have a large amount of statement already as i am a bit of a horder when it comes to ppwk. If I recieve nothing I'll crank it up and proceed to the next stage, i guess i could probably submit a preliminary letter based on the docs i already hold. My other cases seem to be progressing more swiftly, and as i get the hang of the concept i am sighting new projects to get my teeth into. I even told the guy in the Post Office about why I need registered post and 1 pound postal orders. He was intrigued, the next time i saw he said, 'maybe you could have saved my life!!' So i'll just pass the credit onto CAG, cheers!!
  11. Mmmm. I am so glad I have found this CAG, I heard Martin Smith on the Eddie and Kath show on Radio London, I was amazed and felt I had to investigate more. So as a result I am here seeking justice and payback, I have read and re-read the voluminous amounts of advice and now intend to mail my SAR to Halifax . I would appreciate your collective help and advice and I shall keep you all posted. Kind Regards to my Compatriot Consumer Soldiers fighting the Houses of Usury and their Evil Minions Halifax to start with..... I got issues
