This website might help Power of Attorney and this one Power of Attorney Form from LawDepot.co.uk Might be easier just to post whatever you need to send to your sister then she can sign and resend to the bank.

You will have to wait for these 2 charges to be applied before you can claim them back.... I would be tempted to wait until these were taken from the account before submitting my moneyclaim.

Claim for the full amount. The same legal argument still applies (ie. it doesn't cost them £12 to send a letter). Just to claify, £12 hasn't been accepted as reasonable, in fact £12 was enforced as an absolute maximum. -

You'll have to find something to offer them even if it's a nominal amount. Chances are they won't do anything in the short term but at least you can show you have made reasonable attempts. You might have to juggle other payments and make new agreements to do this.

I wouldn't worry too much about actually having to go to court. If you go to Lloyds section, you will find a lot more people in the same boat as you. -
In that case.. if you have followed the steps then you have nothing to worry about! If the 14 days is up then you may need to take court action to get back your bank charges but this is not as intimidating as it sounds. As mentioned, if you find the HSBC forum on the main page, you will find a lot more people in the same situation as you. Good luck

No these can't be challenged. For future reference... Nationwide don't charge for using the card abroad. I have a spare account with them just for this reason.

Do you want to start a new thread in the HSBC question where you will get all the help and support you need. Just a quick check though... have you followed the procedure outlined in this site? Did you send letters recorded delivery? How much are you claiming?
