Phonebox Direct has gone into Administration. I have purchased a mobile phone from phoneboxdirect on the internet and am on an 18 month contract. The conditions were £35 a month and i claim all the money back on months 4, 8, 10 , 14, 18. I have been to the website and found a message saying they are in administration. What are my chances of receiving the cheque back or what am i able to do about this situation? Any advice would be grateful

I phoned Abbey last week to ask about settling out of court but was told that a solicator would call me back but never did, then saturday i received a letter saying they will make full and final settlement out of court. So whether me ringing them reminded them about my case, or whether it was my turn to get sorted i don't know but i didn't get a chance to discuss my case on the phone! My court date was the 27th March - just glad they settled now so i have time to inform the court once i receive the payment.

14 days before the 27th March. I sent my court bundle to Abbey at the end of December.

Just to let you know i received a letter from Abbey on Saturday to say they are settling out of court. I got my charges + interest + court charges back. Well chuffed, and very grateful to this site for there help. They did not include preparation time for my court bundle - would you suggest i wrote to abbey asking for this? or just leave it now they've settled everything else??????? I call abbey yesterday about 5.30pm on 020 77564398 and spoke to someone called Tanya. I explained my court date was the 27th March and seeing if they would like to settle out of court. She Advised me how the process works - That a solicitor will call me back sometime this week. Apparently they are working on cases that are going to court this week and preparing themselves for court....... Then someone will give me a call later on in the week when this weeks cases have been sorted. Has anyone else been told this? Not sure what to do next - whether to call them back again and ask to speak to James or Igna or leave it for them to call me. My court order said that Abbey and myself have to prepare a bundle 14 days before the court date - which i've done! Any advise would be grateful.

Well Done, enjoyed reading this thread. Good to hear these stories. I started mine in August and got my court date in December for the 27th March - not heard a thing from them as yet - hope i hear something soon, sent my bundle to Abbey at the End of December!

Good News - bet your glad you called. What date was your court hearing? What number did you call? and what did you say? My court dates is the 27th March, not sure whether to phone or leave it to them...

I've emailed a few times and have not had any replies, wonder if they receive my emails - set a receipt on the last email but that never came back to me - maybe i should try from another email address and see if that gets a response.

Do you think calling them in person is better than email? and is it worth while trying to get a settlement, or better if they contact me directly when they are ready? Do you have a contact number for them? not sure who's dealing with my case - is it just James and Inga?

I have just tried emailing James, and set up a delivery receipt and read receipt to the email but nothing came back when i sent the email. So not sure if the email worked or not. Do Abbey reply to emails?

Hi, Don't panic... i got a very similar letter myself, and am now at the stage of a court date on the 27th March. I'm glad i read your email as i've been panicing myself wondering whether my charges were included in reclaiming. I think after i read that letter from Abbey, i started the money online claim and started court proceedings. I have sent my court bundle to Abbey and the Court, and as yet not heard a thing. I am just hoping that i get a letter or phone call before the court hearing. I was also not offered a GOGW - expected them to pay up straight away as i'm only claiming £229... can't believe they've taken my case this far. Keep us updated on your claim.

Who's the best person to speak to regarding settling a claim early? i don't know who's dealing with my case. Does anyone have a contact number direct to the legal team?
