Thanks alot thats what i thought!!

They have responded today but they say that they are not going to pay up as it would not be fair to other customers who have had these charges! Is this the bog standard letter and can we still carry on and send off the letter before action?

We wrote to them on 4/3/07 to claim back charges they sent a letter on the 22/03 telling us that they would get back to us about it no later than the 13/04. We then had a letter dated 11/04 telling us that it had been forwarded to the head office customer relations unit and they would get back to us no later than the 14th may? Shall we go ahead with the letter before action as it just seems that they keep fobbing us off and dragging it out?

Hi all just had another letter from Natwest for our joint account saying that they would pay the full 1210.00! So thats 2 accounts we have been very lucky and just been given the money! Wish it was that easy for everyone, somehow i don't think my partmers bank Barclays will be so easy! Was just about to do 2nd letter to Natwest and this letter arrived!! Good luck all of you x

Hi just thought i wouuld let everyone know that i had a letter from Natwest on Saturday, Just in the 14 days, saying that as a gesture of goodwill they would give me full amount owed to me. I'm so chuffed that was easy didn't have to go any further, HOWEVER i sent off out joint account letter to them at the same time and have heard nothing so looks like i'm going to have to fight for that one!! Hope you are all doing well, at least i've got something. Oh thanks all will get onto it. Feel a bit scared but hopefully it will all be simple. Do i send an exact copy of the preliminary letter?

It is with Natwest. No it's definatly not interest charges as that is displayed differently on my statements so what i can work out so far then is i'm owed from our joint account £1181.05 and my sole account £978!!!! I hope this is right! It seems a bit too simple!

Hi all! I am just starting out and am a bit confused what charges i can claim back. On my statements there are charges for the following * unarranged borrowing fee * Paid referral * Service fee * Charges date-A/C ******** £38.00 * Card misuse * Unpaid items * Referral charge for august Can i claim for all of these? I guess the one i have done in red i can't claim for as i guess these are some kind of charges for overdraft? Please help this all seems too confusing!

Hi all! I am new here and does this really work? We have been charged alot of charges over the years with natwest but have a £1500 overdraft with them but everytime we try to pay a bit off it gets used up on bank charges! I am scared that if i try to get the charges back that it won't work and i will have to take them to court!
