  1. In one hand out of the other eh? Or more likely in one account out of the other. One debt less tho which feels good.
  2. Well I've finally been paid up in full, yesterday to be exact. Don't know what I'm gonna do now with all this time on my hands. I've decided to settle my overdraft rather than go on a spending spree and after my donation that leaves me with about £70 and loose change so I'll raise my glass to you all and wish you luck. Has anyone actually tried for the refund of interest paid? When I rejected their offer of £750 which was more than £300 less than my claim they withdrew the offer and basically said 'see you in court'. This scared me a bit but i had a moments of madness and I told them if I didn't receive the full amount in 14 days that I would initiate my claim and as well as the 8% interest I would be claiming all interest charged over the last 6years at 13% plus the £120 court costs which added another £600 on top. They didn't pay up so I did just that, bringing my claim to £1656.33. 14 days after my MCOL they offered full payment with the confidentiality clause which I crossed out. Yesterday it was in my bank. Happy me........ but gonna be bored. 12th August initial request £1085.16 (Ignored) 2nd September LBA + Schedule of charges 11th September offered £750 14th September rejected their offer and added refund of interest at 13% bringing total to £1656.33 19th September HSBC withdrew offer 25th September filed MCOL for £1656.33 5th October offered full amount of £1656.33 12th October paif in full. Thanks everyone for all the support and good luck.
  3. I got the same 'fair fees policy' letter too, its just another term for charges, if it looks like a dog and barks like a dog, bet your life it is a dog! When my claim is settled I'm going to respond to the letter and tell them that they are still charges and if I am charged again (but I don't really intend to go overdrawn after all this , though you never can tell), then I will take the same action as I am doing now.
  4. Hi, I got the same letter on thursday and saw that they have changed the term of their 'charges' to an 'arrangement fee'.. still £25 though. Same old same old eh?
  5. hi, just to say the same as the rest and that is the best of luck to you, I had a sharp intake of breath when I saw the amount. I should imagine the procedure is exactly the dame for any amount.
  6. Great stuff, i get so giddy when I hear of others winning that I think i'll explode when I get mine!

I checked the survey results earlier and HSBC and Halifax are taking a real bashing. Gotta smile

Er...... this is after I've played! I've since worked it out on a similar basis to the 8% but at a higher interest. Its been a very interesting and liberating battle this and also to see how others have fared but I definitely won't be getting overdrawn again when this is all over.... and I'm just after the one bank. Respect to all of you taking on several banks and accounts.

I've added the extra interest when I started my MCOL but I can't figure out how to use the spreadsheet. I've worked it out on a day to day basis similar to the 8% which has added £500 + £120 costs to my original claim. If they had paid up on my initial letter they would have saved £620. Greedy b*%!&$%s.

I've already added it but I can't figure out how to use the spreadsheet, I must be dumber than I thought. Claimed my MCOL last night, got the jitters but they soon passed.

I asked yesterday if it was too late to add bank charges interest on my claim (not the 8%) and was told not if I hadn't mentioned it on my LBA, which I hadn't. Am just starting my MCOL and wondered if it was worth adding just for the hell off it and if it was paid happy me and if not I don't waste my days wondering 'what if'. would it jeapordise my claim entirely ?

thanks for that fella's. No I didn't mention it in the LBA just in the letter rejecting their offer of £400 less than my claim. I said that unless I received the full amount in 14 days I would file an action and include overdraft interest. Oh well not to worry i never imagined I would get a penny 3 months ago so I'd be satisfied with my original amount. Cheers

I told them I wasn't contacting the ombudsman but would proceed with my action. I received a letter this morning again suggesting the ombudsman and no mention of the original offer! Rubbing it in a bit with the last line, they put 'I accept this letter will not provide the response that you hoped for'.......... too right it doesn't. ha ha to you too. Filing my OLMC Saturday. GET READY.

Do I file my MCOL to Colin Langdale as he is the only named person who I have on my replies. He's Senior Service Quality Officer although the signature on the letters is PP. ALso can I add a claim now for the interest I have been charged on the overdraft charges even though I never mentioned it in my opening letter but did in my LBA? I don't mean the 8% for the charges, as I kept increasing my overdraft to keep afloat and so have been paying interest all these years and not clearing the OD if that makes sense. David
  15. I got the exact letter you're quoting as I also rejected their offer. I was also a little worried but decided I've come this far so carry on. I'm filing my MCOL Saturday when I've more time on my hands.
