  5. Well i've noticed this pothole for a while and i always try to avoid it, i guess as there is building site with alot of lorrys passing i guess the blame will be passed on with the council not taking responsibilty.
  6. On the way to work the other morning i was pulling into the road i normally park but had to move to the side for a passing lorry as i did this i went down a ditch in the road which had damaging effect to underneath my car it broke loose the bracket which holds the engine which is now shaking when i drive. Now i know the roads are the councils responsibilty is there anything i can do to claim compensation as this is now going to set me a good few quid?
  7. Well tried speaking to these people on the phone today i totally lost my top well i've sent out another letter requesting for them to put the money back on my card, lets see what the dude has got to say this time.
  8. The site seems to have got really popular that i'm waiting longer for my advice. But it's a good thing alot more people are aware of what these banks have been scr**ing us for over the years i wish everyone the best of luck.
  9. Well i'm now back and fuming big time, i did a good deed for my grandmother as she lives in a different country she gave me a cheque for £500 for her to get the cash just before i went away while i was away i tried to get money from the same account it was empty i called my mother to find out what was going on it seems my grandmother gave me a cheque for the wrong account so it bounced so my account got wiped i got charges for everything even the standing order set up to go to my own savings account anyway she replaced the cheque but obviously this was to late as my credit card for Capital Pxxxs was not paid (see seperate thread) which caused me to get over £60 in charges plus RBS has given me nearly £100 in charges what big cock up. I now cannot afford to pay the fee for the money claim until this is all sorted which is kind of hard as their saying the usual rubbish. What do i do?????
  10. Would you believe the cheek of them, following my last post back in May i had set up a direct debit form to pay the minimum amount monthly and haven't touched my card since. Well somethign said check your balance today i'm shocked to what i heard on the automative system my last transactions consist of 29/06 £20, 05/07 £10.17, 07/07 £20, 07/07 £10.17, 10/07 £20, 29/07 £20. These sound all like charges to me tried to speak to a customer service they told me to call back in half hour as their systems are down now correct me if i'm wrong but does my direct debit to pay the minimum requested amount should avoid me getting any charges? their last payment received was on the 05/07 but my next minimum payment is due by 10/07 this sounds like a real bulls up to me.
  11. I have not yet been able to do the file the money claim form as i'm in the process of moving abroad and will be out the country from end of the week till end of July. Will this go against me that i have not followed through straight after i have received the letter?
  12. Well received a letter from Jeremy Atkinson my branch manger yesterday stating: We believe that our charges are fair, reasonable and transparent. We consider that the amounts debited to your account have been applied strictly in accordance with your agreement with us and our published tariff, which we are satisfied, complies with all applicable laws and regulations. We are also committed to ensuring the transparency of the information that we give to our customers about the operation of our products. We have considered and responded to the OFT statement of 5th April. We do not accept the OFT's findings in relation to credit card fees. We are concerned that the OFT has publicy called into question the setting of charges applied to other products, including current accounts. The OFT has restricted its investigation to credit cards and made no attempt to consult with RBS or the industry in relation to other, entirely different products. Consequently, against the background, we must differ witht he views expressed in your letter and will not be refunding any charges applied to your bank account. Blah blah blah. Jeremy Atkinson Please someone tell me what he's trying to say besides the fact he is not giving me back my money is he just trying to put me off? I guess i should start court proceddings?
  13. I'll be moving to the caribbean at the end of the year and the new bank has requested for a letter of refernce from my current bank for me to ask them to contact them direct would be extremly long as the country is not on the same time length as us so it's in my best interest to get this from the bank myself.
