  1. Hello A few weeks ago we managed to drop our tv while removing it from a wall bracket. Contacted the insurance AA (Royal sun alliance) and they sent a company CIIS to pick up the items damaged (just thrown in the back of a van), the TV and DVD player. CIIS sent a report to the loss adjuster with a report about the damage. Today i recieved a call from the AA telling me that the broken screen was a result of the fall BUT they have found the Power supply unit to be faulty, and as there is no damage to the circuit boards then the PSU was damaged through wear and tear so they wont replace the TV, but they will replace the DVD. I have asked CIIS is if was at all possible for the power supply to fail when they powered up the tv to test it? They would not comment or supply me with any information. ps the TV was in perfect working order before we dropped it. Is it possible that when they powered the unit up the PSU broke either through coincidental or not? Can anyone advsied what my next course of action is - we are at loss as where to go next. Thanks Lee

    Help!!!!!

Now there is an individual who doesnt need car insurance. Before makeing a post that sounds a little insulting i think you should get all the facts. I have had something very similar happen to me and when you dont expect it you can't plan for it. Cazz i think in future you should take the corner faster so your steering is more responsive (dont worry about the car infront) you may also have to hit your unasissted brakes a little harder and only use junctions that are as wide as the M6:D Hope this helps
  3. Hi all About 2 months ago i set up a payment plan with Debitas (3 months at £30) I recieved many calls from them asking for more money and the payment plan was not in place because the amount was to small. I payed 2 months at £30 but didnt send this month because i wanted them to contact me as i had lost the debitas headed letter and forgot the company name so i couldnt contact them. The reason i wanted to contact them was to set up a Standing order. Recieved the usual arogant phone call yesterday evening at about 8.30pm (the office closes at 7.00pm) asking me to pay the full amount of £1300. I said i cant afford it at the moment i can only afford to pay you £30 untill my circumstances change. They refused my offer and insisted on £50 which i can not afford. I asked them again if i can set up and standing order of £30 and they refused and told me another company will be in contact soon to get the full amount of £1300. Can they refuse to accept a payment from me? and if so have you any idea what will happen next. thanks lee

Do i have a good case

I sent them a fax and the chances are they will just ignore it or reply to it, you dont know till you try. I suppose every case is slightly different. They probably think i havent got a clue what im doing and laugh it off... i can live with that. I will send the correct template with the £10 and then we will see who is laughing and i am very serious about persuing it regardless of the time it will take. The letter i sent to them highlights some of the concerns i have with MBNA and again if they choose to look in to my account or not it does'nt bother me.

Do i have a good case

Michael Rhodes MBNA Europe Bank Ltd Chester Business Park Wrexham Road Chester CH4 9FB England Dear Sir I am writing this letter because I want to obtain a list of all my statements and charges relating to my banking history with MBNA. After dealing with many departments within MBNA and expressing the financial difficulties,i seem to be getting nowhere, except being asked for money relating to charges and in some instances being given the wrong information by your staff. On one instance even being told to ignore all correspondence to my address from MBNA because they are computer generated. This I was told when I set up a direct debit payment of £60 and my minimum payment should only have been £28 but little did I know the £60 never paid off any of the arrears. And now my account is higher than it was 12 months ago without using the card. Something is not right!. I am extremely unhappy with MBNA and feel as though I have been misled on many occasions about the arrears and I am sure if you examine my account you will see that what I say is correct. As to the customer services issue within MBNA and the way my account has been handled i am no longer interested and want no response regarding it. I will be requesting all fees to be returned to me once I have all the information regarding my account. If you require any further information from me can you please contact me on the contact details below. I look foreword to a reply I have redone the letter Im sure they will ask me for £10 but you never know. I will also be sending a Data Protection Act S.A.R - (Subject Access Request) but this letter im going to FAX for a quick response lol

Do i have a good case

Called Gareth and a lady answered the phone and told me gareth was not available. She asked me who gave me the number so i said a friend. She then asked me what it was regarding so i said i would like to know how to get a list of my old statements, she then said gareth doesnt deal with that so i then said im unhappy with the charges and does he deal with that?. She then gave me an address and told me to write a letter about the complaint and what i require from them and they will comunicate with me 5 days after reciept of the letter. it was all very quick. The funny thing was once i said i wasnt happy with the charges i was left on the phone for 5 mins and when she returned thats when she told me to write a letter. the address is for the mbna customer advocate office in chester. thanks lee

Do i have a good case

Firstly thank you for replying:) i dont have a number to contact them directly , i normaly have to wait for them to call me. Im not sure how much they owe me but i can honestly say it looks like £20 a month and more in some instances from the time i paid the £4000 and many from the year before that. Normaly i just bury my head in the sand but no more!!!!!! The problem also is that now the abbey are taking charges out of my account which leaves me nothing to pay the card with. Last month the abbey took nearly £200 out of my account so that is realy worrying me.
  12. Hello to everyone:) After reading some post on this site its given me some dutch courage. I owed £5000 on my mbna Credit card, last year i paid £4000 of in one go and presto i then only owed them £1000. 12 months on i still owe them £1300. I missed a few payments because of various money issues at the time. My minimum payment should only have been £28 but i was paying £60. After a few telephone conversations it boiled down to arrears on the account but the £60 i paid every month did not pay off any arrears...strange. All i got was more areas. I was told by a member of staff from MBNA that i should have paid £4 when i started my DD of £60... so in other words my first DD payment should have been £64 to clear the arrear. One arrear. It has now been passed to another company(not in this country) and they are ringing me constantly but i am refusing to pay untill something is sorted out because i am getting told so many different things from different departments within MBNA. They have give me some money back but they know its there fault and the money back still wont be taken of any arrear. The storey is longer and more confusing but what ive told you is the basics. Do you think i should send a DPA request form and would you say my chances are good for some charges being put back in to my account? many thanks lee
