  3. Thanks for the advice Alan, I will send the LBA tomorrow to the same place as the first.
  4. Hi all, I have received a reply (dated 11 April) to the request for repayment letter I sent (on 10 April) to HSBC on behalf of my wife. I addressed the letter to Customer Services, 365 Chartwell Square, Southend-on-Sea, Essex - the address on the credit card statement. They have given the stock answer that they consider their charges 'fair and reasonable', and if I 'wish to escalate' my complaint (most definitely!) to write to their Customer Relations Dept., enclosing a copy of their letter. My question is this, the address they give is at 8 Canada Square, London, E14, not the address I sent the request letter to. So, do I keep to the original timeframe and send the LBA letter at the expiry of the 14 days from the 10th (i.e. send it on the 24th) or do I have to send another request for repayment letter to Canada Square and start from the beginning. Hope this makes sense! Your help would be much appreciated. This is just one of seven accounts I am pursuing -the total I am looking to claim back being £3315!
  5. Hi all, I have just finished wading through six years-worth of bank statements which HSBC sent me following my DPA request letter. I am not quite sure as to what exactly I can claim back from them. The reason being, most every month I have had charges levied against me under the titles 'total charges/excess overdraft fee/overdraft fee/stopped cheque/card misuse', etc. - they total £2419.50 - this is simple enough. However, on the same dates each month I have had a further deduction made under the title 'interest to dd/mm/yyyy'. I am guessing that these interest charges - sometimes as low as 18p for the month! - are for going into/exceeding my overdraft limit. Although the total for these interest charges total £589.21 over the six year period, would they infact be regarded as a fair charge and therefore not to be included in the Preliminary approach for repayment letter I send. I would very much appreciate your help as I am itching to send the letter, but I am unsure whether to request repayment of £2419.50 or to include the £589.21 and claim for £3008.71. Many thanks, Rod
