  1. ok, many thanks. so is it right that they will need to sue me and get a judgment first? DO they have any authority for trying to do so without having taken such measures? thanks again caissa2009
  2. thanks for reply they are acting for a firm i instructed to provide a payment gateway on my website. here is the body of my mail to them. this simply resuolted in them sending back the same letter thatthey sent before, but now with the threat of a collections agency: " Dear Sirs I think that this is about a payment gateway set up for me by an independent contractor. It was never used. £2258 is a ridiculous amount to be charging me for something that was never used. I am aware of the provisions of the Unfair Contract Terms Act. Please detail which provisions from the contract permit this charge. Please send me a copy of the contract. I am in receipt of universal credit. Please, for the purpose of the Data Protection Act tell me the means and manner by which you determined my contact details. PLEASE ACKNOWLEDGE THIS LETTER RATHER THAN IGNORING IT AND SENDING COLLECTION AGENTS TO MY PREEMISES."
  3. Does anyone know this firm? they are attempting to enforce an alleged debt on behalf of their clients. The fact and the amount of the alleged debt is in dispute. dont they have to get a judgement first?? caissa2009
