  1. My wife's wedding, engagement, and eternity rings were entrusted to a well known jeweller for enlargement and were apparently stolen from their courier en route back to the shop from the repairers. We were having this work done as part of our Golden Wedding celebrations so the distress of this loss has been immeasurable. The jeweller has offered compensation in the form of the estimated current retail value of the rings and a further £2000 for our distress. My gut feeling is that £2000 goes no where near compensating us for the loss of these priceless and irreplaceable items; they had a duty of care to safeguard our property and failed in that duty. The theft took place over 3 months ago and police investigations have apparently drawn a blank. Can anyone advise what action we should take from here?
