  1. I'm potentially more confused... do I need to send a letter as part of the pre action or does the claim count as some people don't seem to mention that whereas some people seem to have done that first. The claim was the form hermes give, its been nearly 2 months since the loss of the item and a month since the official claim. Before that I'd been in contact with them probably 2 weeks or so.
  2. I don't believe I said I'm a student. I'm a young carer full time for my mother. And I did read up a bit so I'm likely confused, I didn't see anywhere it said whether you needed a solicitor just that if you had legal fees that they wouldn't be covered.
  3. Okay thanks, I'll check up on the process. Would I be able to do it myself with the right evidence etc or will I need to get a solicitor. If so are there free ones available? Just as I'm not in best position to do so currently. Any advice is appreciated bit I'll be sure to research also.
  4. I understand the unenforcablity just due to the lack of backing they have that losing my parcel had anything to do withbeing on the prohibited list or wirh insurance value and paying you less. I hope that's correct anyway lol, sorry if im confused, currently speaking to 4 other companies about other circumstances. This has been basically the last thing I needed so I am stressed out. Going to county court for this claim is not marked as a CCJ is it? Because im not in arrears to them and will only owe my fee and allocation cost if I lose correct? Appreciate all your help!
  5. I remember it being for £200 I may be wrong though as I just checked and the limit is £300 from hermes. Do you know how I could check the value covered for my order? It isn't on my receipt but i can see I paid £18.30 and it has been correctly decribed as a 3D printer. Checking other posts I've got some more info but and others say to create my own thread. Is there anywhere specific I can enforce my rights? Or is it only through county court?
  6. Value was £244 (Sold for that) I wrote that and paid for the insurance for upto 200 (all it let me do). It was declared as a 3D printer also. I'll be sure to check the posts out soon, just about to have food as not eaten yet. If you have any particular ones you think i should check please link them... Many thanks, appreciate it!
  7. I'm a 22year old young carer for my mother. I came into money issues and sold a machine on ebay. This was lost and tracking has stopped updated. Hermes said its lost and filling in a claim form they said they wouldn't refund me becuase their non refundable policies. It's a 3D printer and no where does it say you cant send those or even a similar machine. It was packaged as it was from factory too. This is the last thing i needed in life as currently trying to get debt help too as credit cards are high APR and ruining me. Is there any way I can go about this another way? I seriously dont feel its fair, and unless stolen by a worker it's got to be in a depot and so should be found if they tried it. I'm currently in the edge and this is almost breaking point.
