  1. My friend needs some help. He had a non fault accident where the third party admitted fault and he pursued an injury claim through a solicitor. The third party insurer admitted liability but would not respond. An estimate for £2800 from a bonified garage for the repair to the £12k valued car was given to the third party insurer. The third party insurer still did not respond after many calls. Fast forward 10 months later, he got the car repaired privately but did not and cannot get an invoice for the repairs. The insurer has offered a minor amount for injury but says they will not pay until an invoice is produced for the car repair. The question is, is he entitled to the estimated cost of repair or is it a must that he has an invoice? Please no comments please such as why he aint got an invoice etc. Is there any case law he can rely on to recover the car damage money?
  2. I was in band c council tax for my house since 1991. Recently, the VOA, have changed my band to D. Reason they said is because of a double storey side extension. This was built 20 years ago. They said it is a material change, and they only recently come aware of it. The band D is a lot more expensive. All the houses around me are band B or C. I have also seen people buid extensions and on the council tax banding website, they have "improvement indicators" which means the band will change when they sell the house. I have not sold my house. I have questioned this with the VOA, but they said they are allowed to change my band to D. This seems very unfair. I have tried speaking to surveyors, but nobody to assist. Any help appreciated.
  3. Hi can you send me templates for following the process. Please can you give me a step by step guide on what to send and when to send?
  4. Hi there. I am not legally qualified and solicitors for small claims are expensive. I have no choice but to do it myself. OK. I have a company that I believe owes me £1200. They are not paying. I have emailed to them back and forth and they have insisted they are not paying. They do not have an ADR scheme or a regulator. So, I sent them a letter of claim giving them 14 days outlining my issues and claim in October last year. They then passed it to their solicitors who wrote to me telling me they are acting etc They took 3 months to respond, and now are stating they are not paying and will defend any action. So what do I do from here? Do I go online to moneyclaim.gov.uk and file a small claim? Or do I continue negotiating? What are civil procedure rules? Do they have to respond within a set time? If someone can be kind enough to give me a few template letters or guidance, thanks.
  5. Hi there. My friend has a washing machine from Curry's which he owned for 3 years. He was given it by his friend, and has the receipt. Curry's contacted the original owner to confirm that he gave it to him. He paid £260 initially for the machine brand new from Curry's. The issue is it developed a major fault recently and contacted Curry's under the consumer rights act, fit for purpose etc They said as he has had it for 3 years, they will offer £75 as goodwill. He then has asked for a repair, replacement, or refund. They then said he did not purchase it, and he has no rights under consumer rights, and he is just getting helped under goodwill. Is he entitled to full refund or a replacement, or is £75 OK? It seems Curry's trying their best not to repair or refund? He asked them for £150 as a settlement, but they are not giving more than £75. What are his rights? Thank you
  6. Hi all. I have a motorola phone under warranty. I have sent it off to Motorola who have come back and said it has water damage, yet the phone is waterproof or its meant to be. I have asked for an email address of a higher level person but am struggling to get one. It seems a dead end with their foreign call centre. Does anybody have any other email addresses for them ?
