I ordered a fridge from Argos online from my Argos Card which would be interest free for 6 months. I have ordered numerous items in the past from Argos and paid in full before the 6 months period ended.
I was given a delivery date and worked from home that day.
When it became apparent that it wasn't being delivered I called customer services only to be told that it was out of stock. I, naturally, was rather annoyed by this and cancelled the order. I thought no more about it.
Around 6 months later I began to receive account statements from Argos with a bill for the cost of the fridge. I again telephoned their customer services only to be shunted from department to department with no progress.
Eventually I spoke with someone who practically accused me of theft!
No progress or follow up was carried out from then.
The statements stopped as I had been returning them to the sender each time but they eventually stopped.
I am now receiving demands for payment from Lovells debt management company.
There is no way I'm paying for goods I haven't received.
Can anyone advise me on what to do please?
