Absolute morons! I rang them last Saturday( I was selling the same as you) a young girl answered. She stuttered, asked for my number for someone to call me back Monday. Told her no why would I give them my number. I asked why she couldn’t help, she said she just answered out of hours. I said what’s the point if you can’t help. Wouldn’t give me a name or anything. Like I said before, they are just looking to make money quick and easy. Given what is happening with the virus, I think they should be ashamed trying to [problem] people. People are struggling as it is. It could Have bad consequences for someone with mental health issues. They ought to be ashamed! Have you checked your sold items to see if you have ever shipped to Horsham where they are based.

I think it’s just them trying to make a quick quid. Someone I know who’s training to be a solicitor told me a lot of solicitors trawl the internet/eBay looking for things that might be counterfeit and then send out letter as a scare tatic to make money. What is it you were selling?

So legally they can’t do anything?

Thanks for your reply. yeah thats what i got from the old threads i read up on. I have responded apologising that i didnt know they were supposedly fake, i admit no liability and the listing has been removed. see if they come back to me.

On the 15th March I had a listing removed from eBay for counterfeit products. I’m the message from eBay it stated western digital technologies had reported the item. I today have received a letter from Palmer Biggs saying their client is Sandisk and demanding I pay them £1100 for a listing of a counterfeit SD card which they purchased on 18th feb and tested. I can’t establish whether they are legitimately acting on behalf of sandisk or not because of the date they purchased and the date western reported it to eBay. Can anyone shed any light? I’ve seen a lot of old threads for the same issue, but I’m still a little worried
