  1. Thanks for the responses. From what I’ve read on the other threads here the PAP must be responded to. Statute barred debts occur after 10 years in the UAE not 6 years. need to send this off today so could really do with someone telling me what I need to say about disputing the debt! sorry to be a nag and thank you!
  2. Hello All, I left Dubai in 2012 due to redundancy with CC and loan debts with ADCB & Emirates Bank. I made appointments to see both banks prior to leaving the country and returning to the UK to attempt to arrange payment terms from my UK bank account (once I’d returned and opened one). I was told by both representatives that it was illegal to leave Dubai with debts and that was that. Since returning I’ve had the usual influx of emails and post from the banks themselves and their various UK based debt collection agencies. I’ve even received a phone call at a previous job in the UK from Emirates Bank threatening me with prison and calling me all the names under the sun! I’ve replied to nothing, hung up the phone call and denied I was the person in question. Also locked down all my social media as I was traced by the bank via LinkedIn. Now received the PAP stuff from Moriarty Law and will be following your advice on the relevant thread when I respond on Monday. My question is this; what should I be saying in the section where I am disputing the debt? I don’t want to say something that could potentially cause me problems down the line. Thanks!
