  1. hi there ive been in 2 minds whether to do this or not and just wanted some advice. I find the whole process quite daunting and see theres companys who take a share of money on no win no fee basis (approx 10%) and do the work on your behalf. are they any good or worth avoiding like the plague. im on a debt management plan which is going really well and dont want to make a mistake and ruining it as the bank I want to claim against is part of that plan. my thought is that going through another company will avoid any mistakes etc on my behalf and will have enough in reclaimed charges to support their fee and pay off that creditor. hope this makes sense please help
  2. i went to the cash point and screen said i can withdrawl 40.00 duely did and was then charged 35 quid for the honour as i had all direct debits waiting to come out on the monday and was a weekend. basically my direct debits etc took me to my limit and barclays said here you go old chap have 40 quid and then charged me for going overdrawn at no point was there any indication on the screen i would be charged.
  3. after reading what manalo has gone through i cant help but feel this is again another delay tactic which starts from the first letters you send. feel that the prelim court attendance is a bullying tactic to make people scared and feel out of their depth and think "stuff that" going any furthur. am i right in saying the judges in small claims courts are lay persons aswell which could be why they requested such evidence due to lack of insight. i attend court regulary for medical hearings etc and giving evidence and have known judges being used from crown court etc to attend potential complicated hearings in lesser courts. basic fact is that the banks have to prove their charges are fair and cost effective to them which they are not basically. the potential can of worms being opened to prove this will have severe consequences to the banks. well done manalo you have done so well, keep going.
  4. this may not be anything to be concerned about but i sent my dpa letter on the 3rd of july recorded next day delivery to have some form of reference and evidence to sending it and abbey sent their normal run off mill response but said they got it on the 5th of july. ive duely sent a 2 line response back saying thanks for your reply can i just inform you that you would have recieved my letter on the 4th as recorded mail and that the 40 days to respond ends on this date. yours faithfully etc etc. i just get a bit paranoid probabaly that these changes although minor may be ways of seeing how on the ball you may be. so please ensure although most responses are computer generated it is important to read thoroughly. as i said this may be a bit over the top but there seems to be a little trend with changing the odd word of paragraph with the banks responses throughout the forum posts.
  5. you should write back and say you didnt like the flowers and due to this you will have to unfortunately charge them and that if they are having financial difficulties you are here to help once you actually get through and charge them again.
  6. just thought i would say hi to you all. new on here and going down the route against barclays and abbey. just didnt appreciate how this is happening to so many people over the uk. ive got my packs etc on order and just sent my first dpa letters off this morning.
