I've got a copy of the first direct /DFS ppi agreement and 'ive sent a letter to First direct holding them responsible for the mis-sold ppi. The PPI agreement clearly SAYS between "you and First direct" also it has the consumer credit act 1974 all over the agreement. The contract was signed on behalf of First direct. In my case the salesman didnt sign it nor tick the ppi box and my father was 64 years old at the time and on the terms it says the person must not reach 65 before end of contract , clearly mis-sold. 729_16443996_1700_x_2340_850_x_1170_.pdf

Financial Ombudsman service:However, some forms ask people to' deselect' or 'opt' out of PPI usually by ticking a box if they didn't want PPI which often wasn't made very clear. We don't think this is fair if the customer did nothing, it would look like they chose to have PPI, which might not be true. Someone posted this in a comment in 2016 on here but the thread is now shut. Rang Barclays insurance in Dublin. Their records only go back to 1998. As my loans were 95/96. They say the underwriter was probably AXA or Legal & General at the time. Going to search out their phone numbers and give them a call I have a Barclays PPI policy from 1992 in front of me and the insurers are: Financial insurance group Financial house, Eaton Road Enfield, Middlesex EN1 1YR. Not sure if they still exist or not.
