  1. @dx100uk Thank you for the suggestion, so the lady at the court told me that since it's a minor conviction, it won't show under the basic DBS check and usually shown under the enhanced one. She has confirmed it is on my record and I will need to tick if I was asked @BazzaS Thank you, I was confirmed from the lady at court as well. But I just want to reconfirm, I will need to declare it for any visa purposes; but if it's for jobs that doesn't require to (say 1 year from my court date), I won't need to declare it if I'm correct?
  2. Hi guys, so I'm back. Just an update for everyone, so I was at the court and pay my fine (a heaping £800). I didn't have the chance to talk with my prosecutor on the day, I managed to apologise myself on the day so I think that was alright, paid my fine on the day and got a letter confirming that I have paid the fine as well. However, weird thing, I didn't hear the court saying anything about enter in my record at the end of the hearing. And also today I was doing my DBS check and no record showing that I have anything up there, so my record was clear. Do you know if this is a delay or something because it has been 2 months since my court hearing. I also received no letter from the court ever since. Also before the court hearing 1 day, I talked to another solicitor and apparently the charges against me was never supposed to be in my record ( like speeding ticket from what I remembered correctly but seems a little bit bongus tbh) So anyone had any similar experience like this? Should I tick on the box [NO] for criminal record if they asked me in the future as my DBS check shown that my record is clear?
  3. yes, I'm waiting for the letter from the court then I will declare it to the Home office right away and yes, I understand that i still have to declare under the UK visa application even though it's spent
  4. Hey guys, I'm here. I've done my court hearing, pay a fine and still wait for the letter from the court, I'm getting a conviction but should be spent in 1 year. They didn't really specify on the day so I'm not too sure
  5. So I'll change that to I have been trying to reach TfL to find my chances to repay my unpaid fare and administration cost, I hope you can please consider my plea
  6. So I will plead guilty and attend court. When they ask me if I have any further thing to say, I'm planning to write it down, bring it with me so that I don't get freak out. Could you help me review it? Dear your Honor and the TfL team, My name is [...]. I have been studying in the UK for nearly 9 years, currently holding a Tier 4 Student Visa. I am attending the court today for fare evasion charges that I have committed and feel ashamed for what I did. What I did was not appropriate and has caused trouble for TfL and the public purse themselves; therefore, please consider my most sincere apologies. This is my first and my last ever offence that I will ever committed. Over the course since this happened, I have been considering on how to get back on track and be a better person for the society and for myself. I have been obeying TfL policy ever since and do not plan to repeat my crime ever again. I also want you to please consider my mitigation circumstances upon my punishment, I have been in the country for a long time for my academic research and planning to apply for a leave to remain after my study finishes, this can affect largely to my application. I am half way to my Doctorate research and I really hope that I can continue to finish my research. If there is a conviction on my record, there is a chance that my university will reconsider and postpone my research which will be devastating for my academic development which my parents have heavily invested in. Moreover, because I have been spending all my time in the country, if I then come back to my country ,I will be more lost because I have developed into the custom. My parents are now all retired and I hope after finishing my studies, I can get a good job to support them, with this conviction on my record, it will be more difficult for myself to find a good job in order to repay for what my parents have done for me. I hope you can please consider my plea, I will be more than grateful to pay for all the unpaid fare and administration cost for the court and TfL. Once again, thank you for listening and I apologise for my behaviour
  7. So I should bring £500 in cash just in case right? Also, in my apologies letter at the court, can I also tell them to reconsider my sentence to conditional discharge? or is that too much and just going to trigger them more?
  8. So my court hearing is tomorrow, my total pay is estimated to be around £500. What would you recommend for me to bring in case my prosecutor decides to settle for me before court?
  9. nothing major, just because i registered my contactless card at my previous address and forgot to change it when i moved to the new place. not sure if I should send them statement with my current address to avoid confusion
  10. Hey guys, me again, so i've sent them statements of travelling proving that I'm not repeating my crime but with my previous address instead, is it ok?
  11. Yes I did add into my email my record of travelling after the incident along with offering them to find out about the guy making the card as well! Thank you for the suggestion, I will do anything to avoid the conviction!
  12. thank you, I'm doing it now So I'm about to send another email to my prosecutor, what do you think? Dear Mr. I have returned the court summon form to the court last week. I have attached the copies for your reference. Once again, I hope that you can please reconsider regarding the charges and I hope that I can have a chance to explain myself to your before this court date (17/7). Being charged with criminal conviction affected largely to my current study as I am half way there; as an immigrant, I can get deported because of this and rejection from my university. I can prove to you that I have been in good characteristic for the past 9 years I have been in the UK and only studied here and did nothing else. This has been a painful lesson for me and I would never do this again. I will be more than grateful if you can let me repay for all unfaid fare and administrative cost involved in my case. I know that you have all the evidence against me but could you please give me one more chance to prove to you that I will not repeat any crime ever again. I hope this email finds you well and I hope all the best to you and the TfL team. Sincere apologies,
  13. Yes I've returned the court form, I haven't copy my statement from the back of the court form (are you mentioning about the TICs)?
  14. yes, so i manage to get a number for IAP through the customer service line. It's very busy so I'm trying to call them until I get a response. I'm so bad at writing email so I hope that I can get through them by talking. And yes, I know my prosecutor, I found his LinkedIn as well but I don't think it's a good idea to contact through that
  15. Do you know how I can reach my prosecutor by phone and where I can get the number? there's only customer service number in my form
  16. Oh and also TFl is charging me with Contrary to Regulation 7(2)(b)(ii) of the Public Service Vehicles (conduct of Drivers, Inspectors, Conductors & Passengers) Regulations 1990 SI No. 1020 and contrary to Section 25(3) of the Public Passenger Vehicle Act 1981. Now, I did my research on these regulation but I'm not too clear, could anyone with the knowledge help me see if these charges are super bad?
  17. Yes,there are 71 of them but 3 of them happened in May (which is impossible since I don't use them so I put a note in that I didn't do this because my card was confiscated since 19 Feb)
  18. Also I'm a bit confused on TIC(s), should I sign on which offences that I've committed or the one that I didn't?
  19. @dx100uk ok so It is my heartfelt hope that you can reconsider and settle my case out of court as I am half way through my PhD research and this can affect largely on my research continuity due to university policy. I'm not sure if this is going to be sufficient?
  20. Thank you for the review! So i've rewritten it as it will need to be sent out today to return the form to court Dear Sir/Madam, I am writing this letter to sincerely apologise to you regarding the incident which occurred on 19 February 2019. In light of this incident, I am truly guilt-ridden and I am aware how wrong my action were towards TfL and the people behind their operations. I am a Masters in Science and currently a Doctorate candidate, with many plans for both my professional and personal future. Given my academic background, I truly understand how wrongful my actions were. What I have done was out of my character and was a result of financial and personal issues during that period of time - I was not in my best state. This, however, is no excuse, as I should have known better before breaking TfL’s regulations. This became evident to me the moment the inspector noticed my misconduct and I immediately decided to cooperate fully and provide him as much information as possible. I am prepared to pay back any unpaid fare costs and administrative fee that comes as a result of my misbehaviour. I hope, however, that you reconsider the decision of prosecuting me, as a criminal record would be a tragic thing for my future, I have spending 9 years in the UK focusing on studying and this is my first time doing this. I sincerely plead for your pardon and I ensure that this will not ever happen again. Also, do you know how I can identify my TFl prosecutor on the day?
