  1. Yep think I'll just pay it unfortunately and cop the smaller fine. Thanks for your help guys.
  2. Thanks for your help guys. My main reason for thinking to challenge is that the sign is quite far away from the vehicular road (4m), with the bike lane in between. There is ample room on the side walk to put it closer but they have chosen not to do that in my opionion so as to confuse the motorist. The reason I'd like to challange is not that I can't afford the £65 more that I hate motorists being sent nasty letters with fines just for going about their daily business. So two questions. Should I contest on the grounds of poor sineage? How did councils get these powers to issue fines for what seem like matters for the police? R
  3. Wondering if anyone has any access to templates to defend against this no right turn at Wakering Road in Barking. I intend to appeal on the grounds of poor signage as it's quite far from the road and past the turn. They are making a tonne of money off it and I saw a car make the turn in the ten minutes I was there taking these. Parking-1.pdf
  4. Oh dear. Well I did read somewhere and I'm sorry it doesn't pass your rigorous referencing requirements. They've probably made a lot more money by now. Luckily the article was from 2017 http://www.barkinganddagenhampost.co.uk/news/3-600-motorists-caught-out-in-barking-pedestrian-zone-1-4892354
  5. Well it’s heavy handed because £65 is lot of money to me. I’m not against pedestrian zones, I’m against so called honey traps which this has been described in some forums. Some other people feel the same http://www.barkinganddagenhampost.co.uk/news/3-600-motorists-caught-out-in-barking-pedestrian-zone-1-4892354 The figure came from this http://www.pepipoo.com/forums/lofiversion/index.php/t66422.html
  6. I just think their (the councils) approach is heavy handed, and others I have talked to are as disgusted as me. Other opinions always taken on board for consideration, though £800000 off the one area means I’m not the only one who has accidently driven there.
  7. That's the one. I've only been driving a few years so I'm not familiar with it. If it's in the Highway code I still think it's a poor sign at signifying that the area is for pedestrians.
  8. Hi CAG. I recently got a ticket for driving in a pedestrian zone at Barking It's a disgustingly confusing section of road that the council seem to be making a lot of money from. I am tempted just to pay the discounted rate but lately have been floored by PCN's. On discussing it with collegues and other law abiding decent motorist I learned I'm not alone. How on Earth did it come to this where the councils are acting so despicable..? I want to appeal this one so I can help others fight back against this robbery. I turned right at the corner in the image Barking1, there is no sign not to turn right but by the time you have they've got you. the second set of signs further in (Barking3) is confused by the arrows on top telling us we have priority over oncoming traffic. I also find the pedestiran zone sign a confusing one by itself! A circle with a car and motorbike in it. If it had a red line through it it would comunicate its meaning in a second. But they don's want that do they Any help greatly appreciated. R BarkingPCN.pdf
  9. Thanks Jamberson. I'll get onto appealing them. Appreciate the advice.
  10. I've got two parking tickets in two days. I work in the railway and we have started working around the Wimbledon area. The first ticket was an honest mistake. Issued on Elsenham Street. We usually move our cars at 13:30 but I forgot and they pounced. The second was today from Merton Council. I had a good look around as I parked but for the life of me couldn't see any sign. I came back and there was the ticket. I then had an even better look for the sign and saw that it was a long way away, in the photo it's about four car lengths and was blocked by a lovely pink tree from my view on the kerb. Wondering where to go from here? The Silver car is for Wandsworth (Elsenham Street). The Van (mine) and sign is for Merton (Home Park Road) Wandsworth.pdf Merton.pdf
  11. Ok very interesting. Thanks so much for the help and wise counsel. It’s going to be a bit difficult to receive red nasty letters and not do anything about it, but I guess I’ll just have to think how satisfying it would be to pull the knowledge gathered out of a hat at court. I’d love to let them know now, but I’ll see it through if that is your advice.
  12. Just got off the phone to the council. No planning consent for the camera. No advertising consent. No applications regarding parking, although he said that might have occurred with the original services application.
  13. Ok cheers DragonFly Mondays conversation with the planning department will be with the planning department regarding Planning consent for ANPR cameras. Advertising consent for all of the parking signs. Planning consent and any variations of time limits for parking. at TS5 9NB. Will keep you posted. Many many Thanks.
  14. Nothing they needed approved there, so looks like it's a call on Monday. Planning.pdf
  15. Thank you very much DragonFly. Will do my homework this afternoon At least my faith in humanity is being restored. Thanks again
  16. Thanks DragonFly. I don't go past it often at all. I might be able to make a deliberate trip out there to view signage but I think I have the added problem of arriving in the dark and leaving in the morning light. A lot of people saying to me just ignore and they will send thier red nasty letters. A colleague at work lived in his car for six months and said he picked up dozens. But I thought the Beavis case had a big effect on this? Mr Beavis said in an interview that it "turned out to be the wrong advice to ignore". Thanks again.
  17. I've only been driving over here around 3 years and this parking business is just a disgrace, like the leaches of society. I guess I'm not sure what to do now, whether to appeal through their bogus system and then to Popla. I just hate giving these low-lifes money.
  18. Yes I'm regreting that now, yet some forums have said not to deal with the parking company, rather try to contact the services to get them to cancel it. It was very nice of the lady who replied to forward it onto appeals team for me Thanks BazzaS.
  19. Hi there, I recently fell asleep in a services area because I was too tired to drive. I then received a Charge Notice from the lovely people at CP Plus. Below is the relevent information for my case. Any help would be very greatly appreciated. 1 Date of the infringement 11/2/18 2 Date on the NTK 20/2/18 3 Date received: Didn't note, just screamed profanities. 4 Does the NTK mention schedule 4 of The Protections of Freedoms Act 2012? No, it mentions the Data Protection Act. 5 Is there any photographic evidence of the event? Yes 6 Have you appealed? I sent this email to MOTO which they kindly forwarded onto the appeals email. Good afternoon. My name is ..............., I am writing to you because I recently received a charge notice from CP Plus. I work in the railway and I was working at an area called Grately. I was driving back to Leyton in London where I live when I became too tired to drive and pulled over at the services area in MOTO Heston Services. I remember I was around 45 minutes from home at that time but I was just too tired to continue safely. I fell asleep almost straight away and woke up leaving the services area and overstaying by 32 minutes. I’m just an honest working guy and felt it was dangerous to continue driving. I’m appealing to you to please cancel this charge notice as it was an sincere mistake made in the sake of safety. he notice reference number is ................... I can supply any other supporting information that you may require to verify my case. Thanks for reading my email and considering my situation. Kind regards, ........ 7 Who is the parking company? CP Plus 8. Where exactly? MOTO Heston East I'm looking at an appeals template and it has this as a possible argument in it: Your Civil Parking Notice constitutes an invoice for payment. Accordingly your invoiced charge must include an element of VAT. However, your civil parking notice does not state either a VAT registration number or an invoice reference number and so cannot constitute a lawfully valid demand for payment. Any success, with this approach?
