  7. Am I the only one to see the irony in your reply. The sarcastic first paragraph. . Ok, there are many members who are aware of the site and its origins but there are many newer members who may not be. You seem to be forgetting them Wasnt this one criticism in my original post regarding new members. I also accept that CAG are a very successful site . I have made that clear in my post. You boast however that you have 200,000 members. Why then on an average session are fewer than 300 of these logged on. If this was my site I would question the reasons. OK, like all sites, many members will join- get advice- leave, but not all 199,700 !! I would like to know which home truths you refer to??? Please elaborate. If you wish to see instances of over moderation, look in the "vehicle" forum. You will see a full thread of posts written by myself from different sections -all put into one thread. Why is it when members agree with you - thats ok. When they might differ, we get sarcastic replies?
  8. This also proves my point. When the proper spelling of L.B. is posted it changes it to the above. Oh, How very amusing !!! (!)
  9. Hi Honey, My intention isn't to use this thread to air my dirty washing, but rather to give my opinion to other posts in the link regarding the suggestion that these sites might work together. The proof is in the legal bagels link, which links to Disneyland. Obviously a bit juvenile. I am the first to agree that CAG still is a very good site in content, second only to MSE. I made many friends in the early days of being a member. I even went on my local radio on a phone in show and publicised the site. They added a link to their web page. The proof at the top of your page showing the amount reclaimed shows how good the site is. There is no denying that. However, the friendliness is no longer there, which still exists in the other sites. I for one will definitely mourn the demise of RUC. Buzz
  10. I have not posted on this site for about 18 months now, but I am about to break my silence. I am about to tell you why I think CAG would be incapable of working with the other sites. It is about glory. Lets look at a bit of history. One of the earliest sites to bring the bank charges issue to light was a great forum Bankchargeshell. A very friendly informative site. They didn't originally have a forum, but a mass email facility which sent the latest contributions to all subscribing members. Two of the members then decided to start the Bank Action Group - later to become this site. It was publicised via the email facility of BCH. At first the site was very welcoming to the members and was a mine of information- it still is. However, that was to change as the site grew. If a member posted something that disagreed with the advice in general, they were over-moderated, belittled and basically treated with little respect. New members who dared to ask a question that had been asked months before were berated and many didn't hang around. If a new member on the other hand were to find a post from a while previously and added a comment, they were met with comments like "Why have you brought up this old post " etc., They couldn't win. I endured this on a personal level. As an admin member of saynotoyes (now carcreditcomplaints), myself and other team members offered to help with any threads that fell within this category. In turn, we sent our members here for bank related issues. At first, all went well, until a mod ( now no longer registered) posted libellous comments on our posts. All posts/threads after this were either edited or deleted. It is sad that after this, the relationship between the sites broke down. Soon after, many CAG members grew tired of the site and formed breakaway sites and although it can be argued they havent really been as successful as CAG, they remain much friendlier. This has really been the problem with CAG. For a site that is for everybody, it will only tolerate the opinions of the few. Very sad, but true. Buzz.
  11. I am inclined to agree with Edinburghbeerbucket. It would be nice as a matter of courtesy to show the members where the donated money has been spent. This is not to accuse the site of any wrongdoing, far from it. I think the site owner and members do a great job with the advice and I have benefitted from this advice. Many of my friends are members due to recommendations and some of them have also benefitted. I have also donated to the site. Admittedly, there must have been many members who have used the site for the advice and once they got their refund, they "disappeared". You will always get selfish people. However, for those of us who remain loyal to the site, I feel it is wrong to be ostracised by other members for asking where the donations are spent. It could also increase donations when people see the good that the money goes to. Please remember, as members we are not here to judge. We are all in the same boat, Buzz
  12. Karnevil, Sorry I forgot, Certainly, if Claire wishes to visit us at www.saynotoyes.co.uk, we will definitely look through her defence and see if there is anything she has missed. We have certain clauses we can use that we dont publish for obvious reasons. You dont know who is watching... For reasons given in the previous post I would rather this be done on the saynotoyes site . Would be especially interested to know who the solicitors you are referring to Claire. You mentioned in a previous post that you were going to ask your colleague , a litigation lawyer, for advice on this matter. What did he suggest and would it be any cheaper using his services ? 13. After that programme the other week about those bailiffs, how do we know that the warrant is genuine. One of them even managed to hoodwink two policemen. Buzz
  14. Any genuine bailiff would check first to see if it was on hp. They have to check ownership so they know they are only taking away that particular debtors goods, so this info would come up then. Surely the judge would award damages as it would prove the bailiff had not done his job properly. Buzz
  15. Thanks for all the emails about your experiences with Yes Car Credit? DAF . They have literally been flooding in and they have in turn been passed onto the media outlet. In the meantime...... ...Keep em coming. www.saynotoyes.co.uk -> Media Enquiry Thanks, Buzz , mod http://www.saynotoyes,co,uk
